So yeah...this is actually a pretty damn cool product.

Although I wish that it had more feats, prestige classes, and...waitaminnit...there are already ten million other products out there with those things!

Way to go guys. It is nice to see something that is a bit of a departure AND well written AND well layed out AND designed to be of easy use for the DM.

This is a very useful product and has been easy to implement into my game.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
Well documented, well described, and really freaking scary in some places.

Disease is a tough thing to deal with in gaming from a character perspective. Partly because, much like in real life, tracking down the cause of the symptoms can be a major endeavor. This little batch hits the ugly facts about the diseases it presents, and one can imaging the greusome detail if they wish.

Having control over such things would also make for a rather wicked NPC caster class...

LIKED: Very clean and organized, lots of good ideas. Everything was made game-ready (well, if you play D20).

DISLIKED: I would have liked to see a few descriptions/fictionalizations of some of them in action, just to get a better picture of the role-playing implications.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
To be honest, the reason I got this was because of the aditional for for Campaign Planner.

That said, the book is very nice. The format is very clear and easy to understand, and there is an area at the bottom of the page for campaigh specific information, and whether the disease is familiar to doctors.

There are a round dozen diseases, in alphabetical order, with a one page one disease layout. Five of the diseases are SUupernatural in origin, while the remaining seven are Extraordinary. At a guess the 'Ordinary' diseases would be those covered in the core rules.

First come a description of the disease, the origin, the symptoms symptoms, and how it is contracted. These are followed by incubation time and the standard damage dealt by the disease. After this comes the real meat - the effects aside from the attribute damage that the disease deals.

Diseases are given three stages - Onset, while the disease takes root; Primary, while the disease raches full bloom; and Terminal, the stage just before the victim dies. Each stage may introduce more complications from the illness. These complications can include nausea, slowed movement, brittle bones, and hallucinations.

At the end of the description are potential preventatives and cures which give a bonus to saves against the disease.

And at the very bottom of the page the DM can add whatever changes he has made to the disease and where it is likely to be contracted in the game world.

A decent assortment of diseases is provided, only one was recognizably based on a real world disease, sadly this was also the only disease that I was disappointed by - the real world version is much nastier and has no cure.

Given the flexibility and customizable nature of this product I give it a very high rating.

LIKED: The form is very useful (I have already used three copies), and the ease of customizing the diseases are very, very good features.

DISLIKED: Only one disease annoyed me, Dire Kuru is weaker than actual Kuru, and the cure described is nonsensical, resulting in an increased chance of exposure if it were actually followed.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
