My favorite adventure to play at GHC 2022. Engaging story and a proper challenge for Tier 4. Looking forward to running this with my players.

A fun 3-4 hours, but it does not have the depth of Dead Men's Treasure story or NPC-wise. (It reads/plays like it may have suffered from being forced into S8 format at some point. As a result, it has more of a set-piece feel than a connected module. Still better than just about all the official DDAL S8 content, and the group had fun with it.)

Both of my online groups really liked this one. A good story with a fun mix of RP first half and exploration/combat second half. Well-rounded NPCs as well. Overall, very enjoyable to run and play.

My group had a lot of fun with this mod. It's straightforward to run as a DM and it was easy to set up the map on Roll20. It is fairly combat-heavy (and you'll probably want to upscale the encounters for most groups), but the good use of the terrain keeps it interesting and moving.

A solid finish to the fifth season. The 3D nature of encounters add a challenge even for T4 characters. And the final encounter (which can take a bit of time to run) manages to make the combat epic without gimping any class abilities. (I'd suggest bringing in most of the combatants fairly early, as there's a lot of early fodder as written.) Unlike Mysterious Isle (which is about two hours too long), the exploration portion of the module is engaging and a sense of urgency the first part lacks.

Like most have said, certain of the puzzle's lack of clarity made this one frustrating both to run and play. (And it continues to surprise that they were cleaned up.) That said, it's very well-paced and well-balanced for a tier one two-hour adventure. The story also feeds in well to later adventures in the season storyline. But would not recommend running unless you plan on taking an editing pen to the puzzles.

Played this and its sequel with one of the authors at an online con. Together, they're the closest thing to an old school 80s module that i've played in AL and a lot of fun. More than anything, the story was very immersive - and made it easy to get in the game as characters (encounters and combat were a good challenge for T3 too). Will definitely be looking for part 2 to come out.
