I thought this was an average mod, compared to some of the others in season 5. This module seemed a bit off the beaten path, but understood the plot of why they were looking for the tower/knowledge. The encounters in the mod did not feel like they were not supposed to be in the swamp. Plus the whole piece on how the sinkhole is a room and not a sinkhole was confusing. I think you should have just put this mod (DDAL05-06) & DDAL05-07 into a 4 hour module and skipped the swamp island encounters to speed up time and got to the point of the storyline.

This mod is... ok. It doesn't stand out, it doesn't have any super entertaining plot parts, but it's not TERRIBLE either. My main criticism is the fact that it's kinda in its own seperate world. With the other adventures in season 5 we can clearly see that there is a main threat (Some Giant Lord), but that is not present (at least for the players) at all in this adventure. In order to make up for that they include giant monsters, but then those feel out of place when the adventure takes place in a swamp. If the plan is to go off of the Bad Fruul story for a bit, have actual swamp enemies! Lizardfolk, bullywugs, there are so many good options!

Spoilers ahead: With two of the items that are able to be obtained in this adventure to get through the marsh, i don't understand why it was necessary to make checks to see if the party would get lost. It made no sense so didn't make my group do it. Which shortened this adventure greatly.

The story behind it is good and overall there is minimal editing problems.

The funny thing about this mod is that DDAL5-6 and DDAL 5-7 is suppose to be one single mod, split into two, and written by two different person. DDAL5-7 is so horribly written, editted, etc it makes it really hard to enjoy DDAL5-6 when it is played together.

I'm a little surprised by some of the low ratings for this adventure. It thought it was interesting, easy to run, and made sense. It may not be groundbreaking, but overall, I really liked it. I've certainly played and DMed much worse AL adventures.

More of a combat heavy module which is good as it lets players flex some muscle from time to time. The combat overall made sense and was fun to run. A really low level party could easily wipe if they aren't careful as some unfortunate rolls can cause pretty high spike damage in some encounters. The skill challenge was pretty average and basically came down to just rolling a dice and seeing what happens. If you have the right party member it is trivial and if you don't it is a little annoying.
