Villagers Set
Publisher: Arion Games
by Andrew M. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 03/16/2006 00:00:00

This is a decent substitute for expensive metal and plastic figures at the table particuarly when you need crowds of villagers to get in the way of your PCs. My only complaint with the set was that the set was pretty small hard to fill a tavern let alone a good encounter set in a crowded market. It seemed to me that repeats of some of the figures in different colors would increase the versatility of the product.

LIKED: The quality of the art is good and having two different construction options is nice.

DISLIKED: For the price I had expected more miniatures-repeat figures with variations in color. Varried options would have been of more use to me than the larger figures.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
A very useful supplement, however as with any merit/flaw system (especially a "tacted on system" abuse possibilities abound. Police the use of this product carefully . . . don't let the players run amok min maxing PC's.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
Initiative Cards: Monster Set 1
Publisher: The Game Mechanics
by Andrew M. [Verified Purchaser]

I have been using the free Initiative Cards for some time and really like the simple layout. The cards make combat flow much better. however I don't own a copy of Adobe Acrobat and so it was a pain to key in all the information on the cards and not have an electronic record. I had to rely on the more mundane hard copy storage.

Now with the release of Monster Set 1: I have electronic records of many monsters which reduces both typing time and the need to keep track of all those printouts.

LIKED: Again they have an organized easy to use single sided format that enhances game play by speeding combat.

DISLIKED: For the price I would have liked to get all the SRD monsters but even so I am still looking forward to the next set.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Thieves' Quarter: A City Quarters Sourcebook

An excellent resource, whether used whole or in bit and pieces--I am already using several NPCs and locales in my Eberron campaign, the elements are that portable. Most would be just as at home in the Realms, Greyhawk, or even Sigil if you are so inclined.

LIKED: It's a richly detailed city (even if it's just one quarter)

DISLIKED: Waiting for the other city quarters to be released.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
The whole box set! The only flaw is in how the maps are laid out as segments . . .not that I can think of a better way.
