This was a learning experience. I purchased a printed version of this set along with a castle set from the same company, expecting a high-quality print on reasonably thick cardstock. The print job was great, but the tiles came on thin, warping photo paper. The description says they are coated in a layer that allows dry-erase markers, but I'm skeptical of that claim and won't test it out. One of the tiles already had a small scratch on it, so I'm not sure how well they will hold up once I place miniatures on them. In fact, I don't know if I will ever use these tiles given they do not lay flat on the table.

I would mount them on cardstock but given they are double-sided, that would defeat the purpose. My suggestion is to buy the PDF instead and print them out yourself. It will cost more money in terms of the ink and paper you use, but you can at least mount them and get a higher-quality product.

Most of these images already are freely available on the Wikipedia commons, where they were shared with the intention of being freely used by other users. While the authors cite the illustrator, is she being compensated for her work? They're great illustrations -- you'll rarely find better. But I have penalize the company for selling what already is being given away for free.
