I absolutely love these Battlemaps - every volume was solid gold. I purchased these many years ago to print off for in-person play. Now I'm wishing there was a VTT version - you can't open these in Photoshop to grab the images off the PDF, and so I'm not sure if I'll ever have the chance to employ these on something like Roll20. That said, a really great product back-in-the-day. Printed, mounted, and used the heck out of these maps.

These are some of the best looking battlemaps in the business. The art is simply stunning. As there is virtually no way I could have created these on my own, their value is quite high. As my budget allows, I'm collecting the entire series.<br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: The art is realistic and beautiful. These battlemaps are the perfect eye candy for the gaming table and really energize the players. I have one player who likes to have his character take a single item pictured in each of the rooms. Go figure.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: Because the art is so specific, sometimes I find that the battlemap conflicts with elements in the existing story, so I have to use a more generic map or one of the other available tile sets.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Excellent<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br>

The intention of this work is to provide beautiful yet affordable floorplans for use in your game. It succeeds!

The book consists of full-page plans of several of the most common adventuring situations (at least, if you do your adventuring underground): a crypt, a dark temple, an armoury, a circular fountain room, a torture chamber (remind me NEVER to go adventuring with the designer!), a library, the entrance to a dungeon and an alchemist's laboratory. Each is provided in a top-down, three-dimensional view in both colour and greyscale (so that you can choose which to print), and each drawing is beautifully atmospheric... it's easy to imagine the chamber that it portrays.

Moreover, each floorplan is fully-detailed with all manner of incidental items... lights, windows, bookshelves, the odd skeleton... which as well as adding atmosphere to the setting in use can serve as an inspiration to the DM when designing his dungeon in the first place. Once you've figured out why a particular item is where it is, perhaps part of your plot has come more sharply into focus, or maybe a new line has been suggested. So even if you don't go in for floorplans and figures, this can be very useful... and even if miniatures are not your thing, the picture can be used as a visual aid to help you describe what your players have encountered. If you do use miniatures, there's an integral 5-foot grid designed into the floorplan (not just overlaid, but worked into the design, usually as the stone flags on the floor) to make life even easier.

High quality floor plans - with the rest of battlemaps collections is very flexible for just about any dungeon/castle setting. Suggest be printed on fast draft settings to minimize ink used - quality is still high. Very worthwhile at price

The illustrations are very nice, but too specific. I can't picture using them for more than one specific locale per campaign. The artwork was a little blurry when I printed it out, which detracted from it as well. I would suggest SkeletonKey Games' tiles instead as a more reusable alternative.

I like the concept. The art is good. But I would have prefered a more "universal" approach where the rooms are made to tie into the other "Battlemaps" products in almost any way you wish to assemble them.

That's the way I'm going to use the product anyway, but it would be nice if the art meshed a little better. As it is, I'll end up with double doors on one end and a single on the other or a wooden door on one side and "prison bars" on the other. It works, but it's not as clean as it could be.

Over all, it's a good product and I'm glad I purchased it. Perhaps a bit overpriced if it's intended to be a one-shot, single configuration dungeon map, but it's worth it to me, as I intend to use it to revive the joy of the "dungeon crawl" in my campaign, laying out the tiles as appropriate to represent many different dungeons.

Also, the product is most useful if you've got a color laserjet at your disposal. Don't plan to use an inkjet; This will chew through your cartridges fast. If you've only got a B&W laser, the product has monochrome versions of the images as well - but, of course, they're not quite as nice.

Lots of great maps here - wonderful detail. These are specialized maps as opposed to generic ones; no big empty rooms here.
