Great pack! I sure wish there was a Sci-Fi soldier pack when I bought this though. This pack is kinda small so I had to buy a couple others to supplement. This is a great way to keep track of combat encounters for hi tech games. No more questions about line of sight or if characters are in or out of the bast radius of grenades or missiles. It also gives players a more comprehensive tactical picture of the battle field when multiple combatants are involved.

Pewter or plastic minis are great but can be cost prohibitive when amassing a reasonable variety for a campaign. Arion Games paper minis are a cost effective alternative that look great and can be printed in whatever quantities are needed. When printed on cardstock, they are also fairly durable. Most come in both 2-sided and 3-sided formats and all are in full color. Even if you intend to acquire more traditional miniatures over time, these paper miniatures are an outstanding base from which to start. Highly recommended!

Arion Games is the best in the industry. Their computer rendered paper figures add extra realism to any game. These science fiction soldiers are excellent. All of the figures feature futuristic black pressure suits. Some of the figures are shown with transparent helmets, others are bare headed. Overall, the look is quite good. I used these figures as the opposing force for my power-suited PCs. The effect was excellent.<br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: There is a good selection of different types of soldiers in this set.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: I'd still like to see more figures in each set. Some may find the uniform outfits of the figures in this set to lack variety.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

If you are like this reviewer, you have neither the desire, or space, or cash, to ?collect? traditional miniatures. Yet, with the tactical combat systems used in many game systems these days, being able to bust out the battle mat and a set of minis is often necessary. Thus you find yourself looking for a practical and inexpensive option for your miniatures needs. Paper miniatures meet this need. When they are packaged as a PDF, you are provided with a readily available source of minis for your games. You are able to print as many of a particular figure as you need, without having to invest too much money in them, or time and effort, in the case of those who paint their minis. It also saves you from being upset if one of your minis ends up misplaced or lost after an overzealous player bemoans his defeat by sweeping the table in a rage. In short, paper minis are an attractive option for their low cost and convenience, and are also logical options for collectors needing a particular miniature, or several of them, for their game.

The figures in Arion Games? miniatures sets come in 3 styles, ?A-frame?, ?Flat?, and ?Triagonal?. The ?A-frame?, and ?Flat? figures can be constructed from the same sheets, depending on how they are cut-out. The ?Triagonal? minis are constructed from a separate sheet. These construction choices provide additional options in preparing your minis for use in the game, major characters or monsters can be constructed as the ?Triagonal? versions to provide a more visual flair, and to emphasize their importance. Other figures can be done as ?A-Frame? or flat versions to make them easier to handle or distinguish them from each other, thus providing a functional use beyond their graphical characteristics.

The instructions are easy to follow and assembling the minis is quick and painless, just requiring a bit of work with scissors and some glue. There are also instructions provided on how to prepare a custom sheet of figures to meet your specific needs. The minis look good, even when printed on plain paper. Each figure is drawn from a 3D rendering (done in Poser using figures provided by DAZED, according to the credits), providing sharp detail and life-like shading, even when printed.

This 2 page PDF (5 with cover & assembly instructions) provides a set of 22 paper miniatures featuring Science Fiction Soldier/Trooper figures. The figures feature light armor body suit style uniforms, sporting a near future style, though some evoke a more space opera feel. The figures include two Imperial Guard figures, a Medic, two Officer figures, two Jet Trooper figures, five Commando figures comprised of 3 different types, and 10 trooper figures comprised of 7 different types. The detail on the figures is excellent. The colors use are mostly grays and dark colors, the armor vests and boots and such are interesting projections of current equipment, with the weapons being futuristic bull pup style weapons. The commando figures feature red, green, and grey uniforms. Overall all of the figures look good and feature convincing equipment and are rendered with detailed textures.

Overall, this is an excellent product, providing a nice selection of good looking figures in a variety of styles for your miniature needs. Adding in the fact that you can print as many as you need, and prepare your own figure sheets, this is excellent value as well. I recommend it to anyone looking for some basic infantry style near-future SF soldiers. They could prove adaptable for a large variety of settings as lightly armored troops, police units, mercenaries, etc. <br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: Very sharp details and textures, Good looking weapons and variety of figures.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: No Vehicles. <br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

A great set of sci-fi warriors. I am a huge fan of paper models and have rarely seen the level of detail that these have. These are some pretty nicely done paper minis. I would have liked some more variety, but for the price I can't complain. However, I would like to see this company put out more sets to compliment their existing sets. The utility of this set is limited, so how about some aliens for these soldier to fight, or other sci-fi sets in the same style.<br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: Good artwork.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

Thanks for the comments. We do actually have several more sci-fi sets planned, including aliens, sci-fi civilians, more soldiers etc. Keep an eye on RPGNow and the forums on our website. Graham

Nice, no nonsense collection of SF troopers. All are human, wearing grey spray on combat fatigues with a variety of blaster rifles, lasers, etc. Mixture of men and women. No 40k style powered armour guys or imperial stormtrooper types, these are recognisable and realistic humans. Unlike the other sets from Arion, there are no special extra large figures (vehicles, mounted troopers or the like) but the set is cheaper as a result.<br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: Dirt cheap collection of good looking 3D CGI troopers.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: The figures are all a bit samey.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br>

The computer generated approach to figure flats works really well, some of the images seem to print off with some dirt or noise around them that isn't there on the screen but that might just be my printer and it just plain isn't going to get noticed unless you are looking at them up close and personal. They look great on the gaming table. This is good quality stuff at very reasonable prices. And the folks that do them seem genuinely very happy to recieve ideas for future sets.

Got no idea if I'll ever even find a use for these - you wouldn't have thought it would be hard and they do look very cool indeed.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: Choice of what style of flat to print and make is nice, also the fact that there is advice on the company website, and in included in the later pdf's, on creating your own sheets using their images to build vrtual armies of any given figure or combination of, or just making them bigger and smaller.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: The absolute worst thing about these is being less than rpgnow's minimum order price to not get a surcharge so I was forced to buy more things I wanted ; ) <br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Excellent<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br>
