Farm, Forge and Steam

This is a brilliant resource for anyone that wants to design a cohesive and deep game world. There is no padding in this product -it is well researched and well written. It won't appeal to those who don't care that a game world doesn't make sense on a social, demographic or economic level, but will certainly appeal to those that do. Highly recommended.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
How Archaic Things Work

I was a little disappointed with this product. It's not that there's anything wrong with it, its just that the information presented isn't anything that couldn't be found out by a quick search on the net. MOstly the book didn't really tell me anything new - There was nothing that I hadn't heard of before, though I read a lot - YMMV. Also, there really wasn't much to tie anything into a game setting or adventure seed.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Disappointed
The Fringe
Publisher: Daniel Bayn
by John M. [Verified Purchaser]

The Fringe is cool in a very twisted way. The system is rules light and narrative based - anyone familiar with Wushu will know what to expect. The premise is intriguing and reminiscent of Man of La Mancha thinking, but set in the modern day - the PCs are heroes driven by their delusions - they may achieve much in the real world, but they act and react in accordance with their own peculiar world paradigms. While Don Quixote tilted at windmills thinking they were giants, these modern day protagonists may belive they are fighting conspiracies, aliens, ghosts or anything else they might think of. Highly recommended.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Loved it. Character design and concept simply superb. T.S. Eliot would surely have approved. Recommended for anyone wanting to try something a bit different from the mainstream.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
