I have a bunch of things like this: Tavern's Inn & Taprooms, Upstanding Citizen City line, Fantastic Villages & Towns, the Remarkable Series, The fantastic Books of Random Tables series etc. BUT this one I keep going to again and again. Yeah it's a bunch or random tables and some shops and food menu lists. The difference THEY ARE SO GOOD. Simple, quick descriptions with item lists and prices. So so easy to drop in for random shops. Each shop has unique items and price lists. Such other gems include tables for Mounts and Horses (with color descriptions!), Random Events, Random NPCs, a compliments and insults table, festivals, carousing, landmarks and a whole bunch more. I just love the tavern/inn section with menus that include all sorts of dishes/foods/drinks WITH PRICES! This product is MY go-to for stores of all sorts. Each has a short but flavorful description a listing of the staff (with names and classes!) Services offered and the coolest listings of items for sale with individual prices! Ok so the layout is basic and the artwork is sparce and sometimes very crude BUT the info is worth double what they are asking. I highly recommend this. Sure the Remarkable Series of books is beautifully laid out with gorgeous artwork and really neat shops, inns, locations but they are really basic when it comes down to a list of what they have to purchase. Their descriptions of shops are highly detailed with extravagant NPCs and wonderous items but The Remarkable Series just does not have the UTILITY that BDHB has here in spades. Need a Jewelry store....got it. What about two very different armor stores..YEP it's here. Need a menu for tonight's inn stay with prices? For sure-The Green Eagle Tavern of modest quality run by the 22 year old Kalista who was a Human 3rd lvl CG Barbarian who is serving meat pie, rabbit and salmon and offers Dragon Mead and Rock Mead....YES!!!! (oh and the prices for the above are on pages 93 and 94. 'Nuff Said!!!!!!!!

I LOVE THIS! This is the gonzo, awesome, underdark that I come to expect from the people at Goodman Games YET IT'S NOT! Good on Hydra Cooperative, Jason Sholtis and Paul Wolfe. It is what is described in the description and then some. Very cool NPCS, awesome backstories, gonzo creatures, crazy plot twists and turns and everything needed to run a DCC campaign in a subterranean environment with a BONUS of the Odious Uplands...whoo boy! I give this 5 out of 5 stars. This is more than an adventure this is a campaign in a book. Just get this and add it to your DCC adventures you will not be disappointed unless you're not into gonzo, crazy, off the wall, weird fantasy. This is not D&D THIS IS DCC!!!!!

I'm not feeling REH or Conan with these rules. Yes, they appear to provide quick combats and task resolutions as the rules are very simplistic, yet they lack flavor and I'm not getting a Sword & Sorcery feel or vibe. Not a fan of the presentation of the “Flex Die” mechanic whose result is NOT ADDED to any roll and only the max rolled on this die used to trigger a special effect (called a “Flex”) but rolling a 1 on it has no effect. I think they were going for a West End Games d6 system “wild die” here but failed. Every sample character has the same resolution die (a D6) no matter their attribute being a 2 which shows a D6 just as a 6 shows a D6. So, I "guess" that is how you can “level up” by advancing the resolution die and attribute number separately? The “skills” seem to be like feats like from D&D 3-5e and seem ok but yet again lack the flavor of S&S/Howard. Armor is bland as well, deducting the armor rating from the damage but always doing at least 1 point of damage seems unimaginative with huge groupings of armor (ex. Hide, Leather, Bone armor is all Light) doing the same mechanical effects lacks diversity. The death mechanic of: “make a Grit save of 8 or die” once you run out of Life Points seems a throw away mechanic…there is no death spiral. If you have 50 or 1 Life Point(s) doesn’t impede you in the least bit (very D&D). Also, the beginning characters seem to start out with well above 30. The sample “sorcerer” who appears in the illustration to be an old man has 38 but the young thief 30?!? The sample monsters are pretty bland as well (bandits, scorpions, hyenas and one deep dark monstrosity for example) with very few special abilities (as the same with characters). I think the translation of the Monolith tabletop game isn't shining so much as an RPG. I also agree with Michael’s review about the same sample sorcerer having “white magic” from Jhebbal Sag…very UN-Howard. Yes, I’m being critical, but I’ve been gaming Conan since the TSR AD&D Modules, the TSR % Boxed set, GURPS Conan, Mongoose d20 Conan (both editions) and IMHO the best being Modiphus’ 2d20 Conan Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of. The last of which I just completed my collection purchasing the elusive missing book for my collection while I was at Robert E. Howard days in Cross Plains, TX. Yes, I am that big of a REH fan. I’m giving it two stars as it’s not horrible but just bland. I’ll save my money and will not be purchasing anything further in this system and will continue to enjoy the amazing Modiphus version.

This book is amazing! It gives my, no so creative, players a whole cornucopia of mighty deeds options for their warriors and dwarves. It also includes many "Tandem Deeds" which two can pair up to attempt. I find this a unique take and reminds me of a certain barbarian and mouser. I'm not so sure about the mighty peasant deeds and fails. I will probably not use those in my DCC games as the flavor seems a bit off, as I like my gongfarmers to be quite the opposite of epic. Although, they are quite humorous and an enjoyable read for me. The thing that makes this book great is Appendix C: Deeds by Weapon which lists all the awesome deeds that can be attempted by weapon type. I highly recommend you buy this in print and PDF as I'm sure you will want this one next to you at the gaming table.
Bonus: I love the various quotes from famous Sword & Sorcery fiction generously spread throughout the book. It is the cherry on top of this wonderful tome.

Have been a paper minis guy for quite some time. I usually buy Fat Dragon Games paper minis. Decided to try out Lord Zsezse and was disappointed. Granted the look of the minis are nice. Artwork is very stunning, the colors vibrant, and the athestics pleasing but when I got down to actually printing out and making the minis I was VERY dissappointed. First off there ARE NO INSTUCTIONS!!!!! The place for the instructions on the .pdf says "Under Construction". OMG I just spent $5 and I don't know how to make them. The parts are VERY complicated and the individual .pdfs themselves have very little in the way of visual guides (where to fold and where to cut). Tabs for glue are non existant and instructions on where to cut out holes or slots do not exist. Score marks (fold marks) are very hard to see (if they exist at all). The chairs, book cases, podiums, books, and table are extremely confusing. I've been making paper minis for about 5 years now and this is by far the worst set I've purchased. Not for the production value but for the creation of the mini's themselves. What kind of company sells a product without instuctions? I went to their website and this product is not even there! I'm not even going to go into the lack of robocutter files (I didn't expect them but hey most other paper minis companies provide them). Save your money. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT UNLESS THEY PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS!!!! Go to Fat Dragon games instead. They are a quality company that is on the cutting edge...they provide robocutter files, layered .pdfs (with multiple options for each piece), cut lines, glue spots and tabs, fold lines, super detailed instructions with step by step pictures for each individual set and an generic instruction guide on helpful tips on getting into the paper mini hobby (with suggestions for what equipment you need and how to make a paper mini).
FYI Just to give you a bit o' background on me and what I base my review on: I'm an old skool Grognard with 30+ years in the RPG hobby (I've got Grenadier lead minis, Ral Partha's, and my first RPG had a lil Wizard on it that said Tactical Studies Rules).

Dear Customer,
First of all, thank you for your support, it means a lot to me! Though Lord Zsezse Works seems like a bigger company, I worked on this title alone, this is why I couldn't release it with the instructions and cut-files (in time); I wrote about this in the description, sorry for the inconvenience caused. I have updated the product with the instructions and Cut-files, please download the ZIP file again from your Library and revise your review if you like. Thank you!
(You can always contact us via our site, Facebook page or e-mail address if you would like to share your experience with us or you find any mistakes in our products.)
Sincerely,
- Zoltán B.
