A great supplement to Cepheus Engine, all updated data of nearby stars and their speculative planets are provided in UWP format. I can envision an ATU with a little thinkering (all spaceport are class X, they are not existent except Earth's one), maybe I will adapt one of my old sci-fi setting with this data.

A great deal of thought and effort went into what is a uniformly high quality production. They've done an excellent job of reducing the space near Sol into a functional 2d map suitable for any space opera, but clearly done in a Traveller style. Due to the excellence reflected in all aspects of Near Space, this fairly small product put Stellagama on my list of publishers to watch.

If you ever wanted to play in a near-earth patch of space but were daunted by the fact that we actually know about the planets out there, then this book is for you. Stellagamma not only does the work of researching the star system in our neigborhood and presenting them in a Traveller compatible format, they have also provided expanded world creation rules and guidlines so you can create your own realistic planets. The most amazing thing is the price and the licenses. You can use this however you want in whatever product you want, and the prive is Pay what you Want.
Methane oceans. Rainstorms of molten glass. Cryo-volcanoes and Super-Earths - you can have all of these and more, with Near Space. Recommended.

This is a really great little set of well-researched hex maps of the area around the Solar System.

Classic Traveller Supplement 10 The Solomani Rim never claimed to be an accurate star chart, but GDW wanted to put Earth ("Terra") on the map of charted space in the official Traveller Universe.

Now, 34 years later, there is a Traveller product based on modern astronomy data to capture the feeling of near-Earth interstellar space. Fully compatible with the Cepheus Engine, it is also compatible with many other editions of Traveller including Mongoose, Classic Traveller and its descendents, and Traveller5.

With the social and population statistics blank, the Referee is free to create his or her own universe using the data of the real universe as the skeleton. There are also spaces for suggested hypothetical stars that could exist at certain locations for the Referee to create their own worlds.

The product is well laid out and deceptively simple - a lot of work went into putting those statistics and those dots onto the map.

The download comes with to PNG files so that a Referee can edit the map to suit their own campaign.

I'd been looking for an easy way to depict the near earth stars in a map, finally found it. It's hex based and thus 2d rather than 3d. This is the standard approach with traveller like games as it simplifies space navigation for the gm and players, letting them concentrate on the story elements more. If you want 3d maps there are plenty available. Near Space is a 13 page pdf booklet with four maps, which plot the known near earth stars with as much accuracy as a 2D map allows. The maps are a quarter the size of a Traveller sector map, encompassing a 20 x 16 parsec area of near earth space. Two of the maps include additional fictitious stars to fill gaps making travel easier and two have only real stars plotted. Each pair of maps includes one with a white background and one with a black background. The booklet includes 3 pages of Star System data in Traveller style UWP format. System data is basic, in that only the main world data is provided and all provide only world size, atmosphere, and hydrographics figures, the rest are for you to develop. The details provided for earth are a full UWP code, however it is meant to reflect our contemporary earth, not a future earth. The booklet provides some expanded world generation rules, compatible with the Cepheus Engine, an OGL sci-fi rules set, but are readily adaptable to any of the Traveller rules sets as well. I am working on my own system data for the map, and plan to use this product as the base setting for my sci-fi RPGs and Wargames. I hope that Stellagama Publishing publishes some more maps expanding upon the region surrounding earth. I recommend this product to anyone interested in near earth gaming.
