A strange book. Some of it I would not be able to use in my game, but it provides food for thought. It points out that gates don't have to be the same kind of gate every time.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
An imaginative selection of gates/portals for use in your planar game. Just using one of two of these should empasize to your players they aren't in Kansas anymore.

DISLIKED: One of the entries is a bit TOO bizarre for my taste, and if you read into it just a little it seems tack to boot.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "tack" but I'm fairly certain I know which entry you're talking about. It wasn't until after publication that someone suggested to me that the Princess as a gate was a little . . . suggestive. I never even considered it as I was writing, instead thinking fairy tale strange when the idea came to me.

It's slick. It's wierd. It's emblematic of all that is unfathomable when dealing with other planes of existence.

After all, it's another plane where even the laws of physics and nature are different... why would we expect the portal to just be a door?

I was a fan of Six Planar Gates, but this one (in my opinion) is better. You may not want to use them all in the same campaign or whatnot, but they are well worth a read.

LIKED: Highly original. Captured the essence of the bizarre and unpredictable nature of planar travel. Well edited, as always.

DISLIKED: A bit on the short side, but I'll take quality over quantity, given the option.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Satisfied
Thank you for your feedback. I suspect that in a year or two I'll look back on this PDF and see it as the first moment when my mind looked at planar adventures in a new way. I hope that others enjoy this PDF as much as you have.

I love the efficiency of Philip Reed's PDFs. For $1, you get 4 pages of great ideas. This PDF has six adventure-inspiring gates to the planes that range from sad to weird and creepy. Any of these would be memorable in a game, though the gate named Princess Qadira is especially strange and nightmarish.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
Thanks for the kind words. I'm actually considering taking the Princess and writing a short comic inspired by the idea. It was difficult to balance the weird with the useful but I think it worked out okay. Hopefully the next planar material I complete will continue to prove useful to campaigns.
