I was lucky enough to be a playtester for Aglaeca and see its evolution from the game it began as to the one it has become. Though the premise is the same, dark sword and sorcery in a saxon/Conan/Beowulf type fantasy world the rules have developed into a unique and interesting mechanic that takes in account your characters past experience and family trade in a way that effects the character in a lot of what they do. The amount of choices within the 5 main character or heroic 'classes' means that no two characters will ever feel the same and the history, background of the character really lends itself to immersion and really feeling a sense of attachment to your hero.
Its the fine detail that makes this game shine without it becoming to crunchy, the hero's date of birth determines their star sign which in turn can affect the characters personality, the choice of god will determine whether they will aid you when called upon, the family trade effects how you character acts around others and what traits they have from experiences. Also with mechanics determining the style of fighting you favour to how others view you and treat you based on your past endeavours creates a world that you really want to succeed in and discover further.
I highly recommend grabbing this quick start, checking out the kickstarter which is currently running and finding this on facebook and getting into a game as you will not be disappointed. So do yourselves a favour and discover the world of Aglaeca.
