Useful titles and information. The details this tool can provide to you in your RPG, is very useful. Coming up with names of books your players find in a library, can be a tedious task. While titles of books may not prove to be particularly useful, it can serve a very subtle purpose, namely helping your players suspend their disbelief! It is also useful in that it creates the illusion that you, the GM, have mapped out seemingly every little detail in your campaign world -- even if you really haven't! You might be surprised at just how far this level of subtle detail will go in aiding your players' enjoyment of your game world. Cheers!

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
Bruce, Thank you for your kind comments... particularly your note about the mapping out of seemingly every little detail of the campaign world... that is actually a driving factor behind alot of the products in the Top Fashion Games line. And since much of these "backdrop" fillers and adders do not require a great deal of game statistics... if any, it allows us to present a product that is compatible with most any standard fantasy rpg.

This is a fairly minimalist product. While that's expected in presentation for a product costing so little, it's in the content that it's frustrating. The company's holiday series, for instance, clearly had more creative energies spent on them.

LIKED: The little bit hinting at a background for the authors was nice, although it would have been nice to have a lot more of it.

DISLIKED: This is marginal utility. The purpose of this series is to provide books so a GM doesn't have to come up with them on the fly when a player insists on searching a bookcase, SURE that there's some goodies hidden there. Unfortunately, there's nothing here that I could not have thought of off the cuff, particularly the incredibly generic titles. I won't be buying any more of this series.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Disappointed
Another nice addition to this series. I think these are getting better as they go. The first 2 were pretty decent, but 4-6 have been very good. This is not a supplement for someone who is looking for powerful treasures... it is what it advertises to be. You get about 20 short descriptions of mundane books on various topics within the theme. They make for great flavor, or even inexpensive and intriguing little treasure items.

LIKED: Some cool little ideas here, without going over the top. There is no risk of any of these books being a balance problem in a game, or even needing any effort to toss into a setting. It's quick, easy to use, and concise.

DISLIKED: My only minor nit-pick with volume 5 is that the table of contents was still labeled "Kitchen Favorites," which was the title from volume 4...

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
