A nice combat encounter. It's also friendly for new Dungeon Masters because it includes information on the tactics and behavior of the enemies.

I like that there are tables based on attack types. Some of the results can be really fun. My only objection is that magic weapons shouldn't break that easily.

Hi Chris, thanks for your review. For a magical melee weapon to break would be 1/20 (rolling a 1 on your attack) x 1/10 (weapon break result) x 1/10 (magical weapon breaks) = 1/2000 attacks. Depends on your tastes, but it's not very likely to happen. It would be pretty epic if it did and then could set up an interesting side quest to somehow reforge the weapon in question. |

A well made faction with a really good idea. I have my doubts about the background as a character option. Full review here.

Hi Chris, fitting an Assassin who is an active member of a guild into any adventuring party is problematic story wise (unless they are retired... which is a bit boring). I have offered some ideas and solutions, but as you mention in your full review Assassins make better NPCs than PCs. However my solutions give some viable options.
I must say I think your point about layout and editing is far wide of the mark. It's formatted exactly as a WoTC product and was proofread by two native speaking English gamers. My day job is an editor btw :-)
Regarding difficulty for the passing the initiation ceremony you are focused on averages. On average people will pass, which is the intention. Killing PCs by chance is not much fun.
I'm glad you liked the other parts of this product and the lore around the White Scorpions.
Cheers for now...
