Mad Elf Archive Clip Art Collection - Vol. 1: Characters

TTA used clip art from Mad Elf's Vols. 1 & 2 for a recent product. The art was easy to use, and looked good at nearly every size we tried. There are a couple pieces that I could wish had a little higher resolution. The license was also very user-friendly - easy to understand and easy to comply with it.

LIKED: The variety of pieces and the convenient license.

DISLIKED: One piece seemed blurry when we tried to use it in a large size. However, out of two entire sets of artwork, that made a very small percentage of problems.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
We (Tabletop Adventures) bought this looking for art for an upcoming project. With no demo, we based our decision on the other comments available, and the sale price. I was pleased with the quality of many (though not all) of the pictures and we would have gotten our money's worth out of the product. However...

This product has an End User Licensing Agreement which is not revealed until the last page of the PDF document in which the artwork appears. It states that by purchasing the product, we have already agreed to the license even though there was no previous mention of it. It has restrictions such as having it on computers in only one location and not allowing modification of the "Software" which, depending on how they are interpreted, render the product totally useless for us. I have written the company for an explanation, but I'm afraid we will not be able to use this art after all.

LIKED: Several very nice character portraits.

DISLIKED: Surprise End User Licensing Agreement that reads like it is for a computer program rather than artwork, with lots of restrictions.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Disappointed
We're sorry that you are unhappy with your purchase, but you are receiving over 20 images for under $5. Each of these images cost well over that when originally purchased. Our license agreement is similar to other art vendors on RPGNow.com and all that we ask is that you do not modify the pieces. Thank you, Hyrum Savage OWC
