This is an interesting book. It is based on real life when peasants were taxed to death. It contains taxes for having all your arms and legs; being born or buried; owning cats, dogs, wolves, horses, goats, donkeys, or poultry; dancing or going bare foot; or owning land. It covers just about everything, except owning monsters. It is a real slice of history. They don't cover Bans and Banalities though. Maybe in a future book. It is a good product and well worth its price.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
One of many generic fantasy supplements, these are darn good bargains. Lots of quick-use ideas are packed into small space, with no illustrations to undercut the page-count. Fun, cheap, and of good general use!

Who knew taxes could be such fun! ;)

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
Clever and amusing in places. However it could have been better. History has been filled with interesting and crazy taxes and tariffs, yet the author seems to have chosen to invent their own on the fly rather than try to do the research.

Worth having at this price, regardless.

LIKED: Great idea. And could be a neat reference and source of information.

DISLIKED: Pathetic production values. Lacks research. No real fantasy feel to it; I'd have liked to have seen a variety of innovative magical or fantasy themed taxes and tariffs.

QUALITY: Poor

VALUE: Satisfied
Okay, here's the situation. Your adventure has granted the players a HUGE sum of treaure following the slaying of some grand monster. What are you going to do to remove that excess wealth that the players have wthout the player wanting to lynch you. Here's your answer. With oppressive taxes and tarrifs, you can remove some of the unneeded treasure while making the players feel like they are part of the campaign world and not above it. Abuse with mayhem, my fellow DMs/GMs! Use liberally and often!

LIKED: Each tax and tarriff has all the pertinent information on how to use the various tax and tarrifs and included the when they occur part that usually foils most DMs/GMs. My favorite has to be the "Arm and Leg tax". Pick it up and you'll see what I mean!

DISLIKED: I can't think of anything.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
