Advanced Gamemaster's Guide (d20 3.5)
Publisher: Green Ronin Publishing
by Mary J. J. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 08/28/2005 00:00:00

I am new at being a Game Master. This is an excellent source for new Game Masters! I wish I had discovered -- and bought -- this book whenever I was considering running a game. I would've saved a LOT of time and money on research and research materials. This is NOT a book for someone who is seasoned at DMing, however. You would not get your money's worth in new or updated ideas. (It would make a great gift for your friend who is considering starting a campaign, though!)

LIKED: ~Easily~, the majority of information that I gleaned from the internet, friends, books, etc. that I had to piece together myself -- is all in one place in this book/format. Easily readable and understandable. And it leaves lots of room to "fill in the blanks" with your own world and imagination.

DISLIKED: I cannot afford all the black cartridges I would have to go through to print it off. And I DO like to hold things I read and refer to in my hand. It's a thing. ;) The black "edging" of each page, and the huge detailed pictures are totally unnecessary and just suck up perfectly good black ink.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
Combat Options: Improvised Weapons
Publisher: Broken Ruler Games
by Mary J. J. [Verified Purchaser]

Now where has THIS supplement been all my life! Who said warriors always had their clubs within reach? Or that rogues never accidentally left their daggers in their other pants? And then trouble broke out. True swashbuckling does not limit the hero to tools-of-their-trade found in the port city bazaar at inflated prices. Even if I NEVER use this as a tool in one of my games [and trust me I will make every effort to do so], I still love owning it. It's just so ... so ... Jackie Chan!

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
You just can't go wrong buying anything that starts out with: "Stupid Fantasy Laws." Now can you? The price is absolutely fabulous. And the concept behind the material is -- I'm sorry -- but bloody brilliant.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
I had this on my "wish list" for some time before I rewarded myself one weekend and bought it. It is okay. I think I wanted and expected something more out of it. shrug That may just be me. Of the classes presented, there was only one I was interested in. And of that one, only a few paragraphs that I would choose to utilize. So. I wanted to know what was in it. But with that said, had I known, I may not have bought it.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
I have enjoyed all of the "A Dozen" downloads I've purchased. For the price, they can't be beat. This is no exception and I [now] look forward to good "Gather Information" roll in my campaign to utilize these. I only wish they would come out with more "A Dozen" more often.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
Creator Reply:
Thanks for your feedback! It's good to hear that you're enjoying our work. We've specificially slowed down on "A Dozen . . . " releases for now. If a large enough demand for new releases comes in we'll increase production but for now one a month is gonna be about it.

I just enjoy the concept behind these "Seeds" so well. I like reading through them; I suppose I'm just nosy that way. I've not utilized any one "seed" as of yet, but they are worthy of consideration when I do eventually need one!

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
100 Fantasy Adventure Seeds
Publisher: Postmortem Studios
by Mary J. J. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 06/08/2005 00:00:00

This genuinely has 100 Fantasy Adventure Seeds. How sad is it that I thought there might be some fudging in the advertising of such. But the creators deliver. The format and explanation is very clear and easy, easy to read and understand. The seeds themselves provided me with several ideas I can "seed" throughout the next little bit of my campaign. And I look forward to utilizing more.

LIKED: The layout is very simple, but very pleasant. I've printed off all 112 (?) pages to put in my binder.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Good source of various places to acquaint yourself and PC's with, in a Harbor Town. Better still, it gives a GM a good idea of other places to create, too.

LIKED: I liked the layout. When I printed it out, it looked really good. The information was presented in an entertaining way.

DISLIKED: I actually had two Page 40's, then onto Page 42. I have no page 41. That was a disappointing jolt.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
Not by design, my new campaign features a group of rogues. I thought this would be a perfect addition to drop in now and again, into the game. I haven't actually tried it out yet, but when I do I will have to rework the rumors greatly to fit them into my world. I hope that the ideas the rumors have in them, will be enough to make the rumor work in any homebrew world.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
It's huge. I had no idea how to read this. But the author was willing to help me out. As it is, I'm not all that computer savvy and I was trying to read it while it was still in a compressed format. Once everything was up and running, I can't say enough good things about it. I'm new at GMing anyway, and a tome like this with tips and tricks and ideas galore, is truly a treasure trove.

LIKED: I've not found a "bad" tip, yet!

DISLIKED: I can't exactly print out over 3,000 tips and such.
