This is a nice little ship and a good variant of the one depicted in the Star Freighter tile set. I don't use the tiles or these ships for d20, so the stats aren't of much use to me, but the crunchy info provided would be useful if I did. For $2, the additional tiles are an excellent value.

LIKED: Nice take on the Star Freighter design.

DISLIKED: I can't complain about anything with this $2 product. Those who do should be shot. :)

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Ships are always useful, and these products come with added material: tech/equipment/rules to enhance a space campaign.

LIKED: Extra rules to use with the ship. Tiles compatible with other sets.

DISLIKED: I have to buy other tile sets to have a complete ship. Space combat tokens for the ship would be useful.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
Have used Comet-class freighters identical and similar to The Nova Star in my d20 Future campaign as a blockade runner that the players were ordered to intercept and prevent from landing on a interdicted planet. New systems included with this PDF enchance that roll for the ship.

LIKED: Versatilty of the design and integration with starship deck plans from Skeleton Key. I like deck plans, but I don't always to take the time necessary to draw them.

DISLIKED: Would have loved to see a small "secret hold" in these deck plans for those special cargos and emergency situations. I have easily added a couple in the various versions I have gamed with, but it would have been nice to have one included.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
This PDF details a freight star ship for a space opera-type d20 Future game. It begins with a short introduction listing assumptions regarding the use of this ship. It also has some information about the author, and notes about how to use this product with e-tiles from Skeleton Key Games.

This is followed by some new rules (new hardware actually) and some ideas regarding possible cargoes, and a suggestion of how to handle Purchase DCs in a space opera-type game.

Then we get down to the meat - a background for the Nova Star (the name isn't for a class of ships but rather for a single individual), d20 Future stats for the Nova Star, a key to the map of the ship, and some adventure hooks.

Finally we get a map - very nicely done - and a silhoutte of the ship (comes in handy if your players come across the Nova Star).

LIKED: I especially like that the author has taken the time to give us his assumptions for the campaign that this ship will fit. I also like the background - gives me lot of information to use for my own campaign world. Finally I like the silhoutte - as the author points out, this is excellent to show your players if they come across the Nova Star during their travels.

DISLIKED: Nothing.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Interesting book. Useful for all systems, but having other system stats would be better.

LIKED: Good description.

DISLIKED: Should have been bundled with the E-Tiles for the Star Freighter for best value.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
These products are a nice package. I just wish it included more bonus tiles and was less reliant on buying another product to make the ship.

LIKED: Well rounded.

DISLIKED: Not a complete ship without buying other products.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
If you're running (or planning to run) a d20 Future spacefaring campaign, these Nova Star deckplans will give you a perfect "starter" player starship.

Be warned: these inexpensive Future: Starship series ship's data/deckplan packages are like potato chips -- once you have one, you likely won't want to stop there. Futhermore, you'll probably also want to buy the high-quality, printable PDF tilesets from Skeleton Key Games which were used to create these deckplans -- just so you can lay out the entire starship to scale on your gaming table!

LIKED: - It delivers exactly what it promises, and at a low price.

 • The additional starship details: new starship rules and components and the like.

 • the bonus tiles from Skeleton Key games: -- the beginning of the addiction!

DISLIKED: - I have no complaints.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Nice kick-off to Ronin Arts Starship series. Enjoyable, and handy in a wide variety of sf campaigns, obviously a slant to d20.

Admittedly, I'm a fan of the entire series.

LIKED: Brief, to the point, and makes use of the Skeleton Key tiles for deckplans.

DISLIKED: N/A

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
This product is excellent.

For one thing, it provides some nice detail on the SKG tile set. Although in most cases, the tiles are easy to recognise, the text provides some ideas for adventure.

For another, this is one of the first products I've seen that ties in nicely with the starship rules from d20 futute and demonstrates how a ship can be created that follows those guidelines and yet can inspire quite a bit of adventure.

LIKED: Excellent product for a great price.

DISLIKED: The two SKG tiles didn't really add much to the book, as they are basically just different outer shapes on an engineering layout already included in the Star Freighter tiles. Still, they are extras so this is a tiny criticism.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Very nice and unexpected release combining the talents of the guys at Ronin Arts with the exceptional artwork of Ed Bourelle's e-Future tiles, the Nova Star is a good example of combining the best of both worlds. Although ideally you need the Star Freighter set of SKG's e-Future Tiles, a full deckplan is provided for the ship if you don't have them (although if you pick this up, chances are the tile set will be next!) along with two extra tiles that extend the 'wings' of the ships engine pods. A nice amount of information on the ship itself is provided for use with the d-20 Future rules, although I will most likely be using this in my Traveller game. For the price this is an EXCELLENT product, and I look forward to seeing many more collaborations between these two companies.

LIKED: Nice combination of talent, excellent price point, exclusive e-tiles.

DISLIKED: No problem for me as I'm an SKG fanboy but the ship does become more useful assuming you have the e-Future Star Freighter tileset.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
