Rife with grammatical errors. Ignore those and you've got a decent straight-forward introductory advenute.

The one-on-one option at the beginning was a smart choice.

TPK could loccur in the final encounter if too many of the creatures are freed at once from their cages. A way to get these beasts back to nature with little threat to the PCs should be rewarded for thoughtful players.

I hope the author will be more careful or hire an editor for future projects, but the basic adventure itself is fine.

ran this as a brand new DM with 4 brand new players, and it worked a treat! plenty of information and background to give players, and easy to substitute different info to suit different storylines and hooks. only issue i had was the players barely made it to the end of the encounter (and probably only made it because of some quick thinking and rp) but i'm pretty sure that just comes down to inexperience judging by other reviews :)

Fairly decent adventure we have here. I ran it for just a single Level 1 player and he handled it fine, so I would say it might be a bit too easy for larger parties, but at least you won't worry about TPKs. Overall I'd say the story is average- it's not particularly compelling, but it's enough to get your players going to the objective. I do like the extent to which this adventure gives you information- It requires very little legwork on your part to actually run the adventure. It provides stat blocks and information for all creatures/magic items included, so you don't really have to look anything up. If misspelling/poor grammar is a dealbreaker for you- well, it's free, so you should still at least look it over. However, the spelling issues did distract me a little. Overall, this a decent adventure that can easily be run in half a session. Consider buffing the bad guy a bit if your party is full of tactical geniuses.

I've used this time and time again. It's short, sweet, and easy as an introduction to the game. So much can be swapped out and changed from the core to create a new experience for DM and Player alike. Make it a halfling village with a witch villain, make it a werewolf instead of the jackal boy, keep changing it! It's wonderful.

Used this as the solid basis for my first adventure in DMing. Thanks. Modded for 2 players at level 3.

Used this as a foundation for my first ever game. Made some tweeks to the setting and story to make it fit my world, and that was very doable. A good foundation to start from, we got through it in one night, so a good job from the creator.

Simple and fun adventure for beginning players. A bit bland at some points but can be interesting if a few changes are added by the DM.

A decent introduction adventure. A few spelling and grammar errors throughout, and awkward wordings. Not very imaginative with the names ("Joe" doesn't fit in with what I think of as 'D&D names.')

This may be because I'm a new DM and if I was more experienced I wouldn't think twice about it, but I found the lack of explanation as to why the guards in town hadn't already dealt with the issue odd.

Overall, it took some tweaking, but it was a solid first outing. And the price was right.

Very short and simple adventure. Did take some prompting to get the party going and I was able to use it as a return stop for the continuation of our campaign. The Mastiff ended up adding a whole bunch of quirky nonsense as it got stuck in an upside down room in the Fiendly Arm Inn adventure and the party had to 'lift' the mastiff down into the lower floor in a reverse gravity room.

4/5 overall.
