Wow, it really is 15,0000 all split into three groups of your standard NPC's.
If you are looking for a baker say, you need to go through the list of labor NPC's, kind of annoying. (but its 1 dollar!) The vastness of the list is awesome, specifically for the price point.

A solid product given the price. It's a great resource for giving your players a brief description of a person along with a first and last name all the while providing some behind the scenes ideas for the Dungeon Master regarding the NPCs spouse and children, if any. Do note that gender for the NPC is not provided with the description!

An important thing to keep in mind is that nearly all the last names (family names) in the document are two part names combining two English words. While this is suitable for characters in western-style fantasy and particularly the Sword Coast – they will sound out of place when you start adventuring outside that area. More specifically for the Forgotten Realms setting, these last names are distinctly Chondathan in origin which are also used by Tethyrians who inhabit the Sword Coast. The first names feel primarily suited for humans, but they do fit in very well with the ones provided for humans in the PHB.

As expected with generated content, the format of the descriptions is rigid but that also lends to making it easy to read once you learn the format, which is the following:

• Each NPC is given 1 first name and 1 last name.
• They have a profession and a rough skill level (competent, careless, expert, etc.).
• A single sentence description of their appearance.
• A single sentence description of their personality.
• The first name of their spouse, if any.
• The number of children, if any.

A definite must-buy for Dungeon Masters running games in the Sword Coast region but if your players are running around elsewhere be prepared to come up with more suitable last names.

I have a hard time coming up with NPC names and descriptions on the fly. What gets my imagination started is exactly what this product provides...and in massive quantities.

The descriptions are basic and minimalistic, this exactly what I was looking for. Perfect for when you just want some quick inspiration when your PCs visit the tenth unexpected NPC of the night. Regardless of whether or not there are online generators that may do the same thing, I don't regret the $1 spent.

I would say that this piece does something more than most name generators online do. However it does feel like there could have been a bit more detail since you are paying for this. Either way, it is still a good buy for lazy and unprepared DM's like me just in case you need it. You can never have too many tools at your disposal to make the game run smoothly.

This is a nice document that provides enough detail to quickly integrate any type of needed NPC into your campaign on the fly. However, this is also something that has been done numerous times by free online generators and certainly isn't worth $1.50. The quality of NPC description is good, but minimalistic.
