This is another case of a good product for the price. For $1.50 it's actually pretty good. Some of the ideas are interesting, others rather basic. If you have a hard time creating festivals or have never done it and wish to, then check this out.

It goes quite well with the Tournaments, Fairs and Taverns book on sale here because that gives you ideas on executing suggestions they have in this book.

Festivals and Holidays were things I hadn't used in my games, so I purchased this and I will be putting some in now.<br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: Day of the Dead and Fortunate Year were really good ones I definately wouldn't have thought of (at least the angle they take on them) and I will be using them.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: it was 8 pages of 12 festivals, you'll probably benefit from at least 2 or 3, compact with very little fluff or legal stuff. Ronin Arts is normally thought of as one of the top PDF publishers, but this collection of holidays pales in comparison to any of the Top Fashion Games bargain holiday collections, all of which are more colorful and more interesting than the dozen here, with little overlap. I'd recommend buying all three of the TFG ones first, before picking this one up.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: There was a nice variety of holidays, from religious, to small town secular to national secular.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: None of these holidays were particularly imaginative or colorful, having even extremely generic names.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Acceptable<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

Okay, some of them are kind of obvious ("The Drinking"... it's the holiday when everyone gets drunk), but they do a good job of getting you thinking about holidays in your campaign. This is really good for roll playing. It gives a dozen generic holidays to use such as; Rememberance, Saint Gohaba's Day, Founder's Day, Fortunate Year, Victory Day, Day of The Dead and others. It is good for a backdrop for adventures. Excellent piece of work! It provides me as a DM with something rather simple that at the same time provides lots of flavour to my campaign.
