This toolkit was made with a lot of love! There is so much good stuff here that every DM should read it for inspiration. It honestly makes me want to go back and lower my rating for other products because it is a cut above the rest and 5 stars just isn't enough.

For myself, I wouldn't generally consider giving my players a handout like this and prefer them to discover a city on their own. Nonetheless, this is a very nice (and FREE!) primer that a DM can use when creating their own custom city. Personally, I would recommend just downloading the DM Faction Folio from this author and using that.

This is a really nice DM setting guide that could easily be used as the basis for the creation of an entire campaign! Even if you aren't interested in using Waterdeep in your campaign it is very easy to pull some of the wards, NPCs or other tidbits from this guide to use in any homebrew setting. I especially liked the addition of links to other resources and generators for helping the DM! I thought this was definitely worrth the money and highly recommend the companion materials to this guide as well.

These encounters were fun, unique and scalable! This is a useful resource for any DM.

Although the concept of expanding the downtime system with a system of randomly generated events, this document doesn't provide the DM with the tools necessary to do so. The system in this document provides static challenges and rewards that do not scale by level or number of PCs. Therefore, at low levels this document could possibly overwhelm the PCs and at higher levels will provide no challenge whatsoever. Following with this, the rewards are very underwhelming and are likely to be uninteresting or of no consequence to many PCs.
This system could be greatly improved with a system that scales from levels 1 to 20 and by number of PCs. In its current state it is really only useful for a sliver of time in most campaigns. Use the official DM guide for a much better workflow for creating downtime events.

Thank you for your interest, and taking the time to write a review. I am confused by the expectations this review reflects.
I agree that the sort of full-fledged encounter tables described in this review would be immensely useful for generating urban adventures. But, the description of this work is a nudge players during downtime rather than serve as a guide to urban adventuring. Your experience may be different; but, at my gaming table, downtime provides context but is expected to be something dealt with relatively quickly in order to move on to the action. |

This is a great resource that builds upon my most used section of the Monster Manual, the human NPC section. Definitely a good resource that adds value and options that you can't easily find elsewhere! This is definitely a product worth paying for.

This is a good quality product that is much more comprehensive than many other supplements. The blood magic is especially very nice and the comprehensive implementation across the different classes is a nice touch.
I'm not an expert at class balancing, so other reviews should be used for that, but these .pdfs show a high degree of effort and fully expand on the initial design concept.

This is a pretty nice generator that provides some unique scenarios and a simple generator for making up inns as necessary. Could be improved by adding some generators tables for patrons, proprietors and building descriptions. However, the various lists of events and adventure hooks are pretty nice.

A very minimalistic product. Free online generators do a better job of inn generation and this document is therefore not worth the price.
Could be improved by adding the unique elements for each inn (at a minimum):
- Description of inn locations/surroundings that make it unique
- Description of the structure of each inn
- Description of the menu at each inn
- Description of different rumours that might be heard at each inn.
Needs to provide a lot more in order to be better than free resourcres that are already available.

This is a nice document that provides enough detail to quickly integrate any type of needed NPC into your campaign on the fly. However, this is also something that has been done numerous times by free online generators and certainly isn't worth $1.50. The quality of NPC description is good, but minimalistic.

This pdf is exactly as described, 900 villages with details about Name, Population and a few places of interest for each village. However, this is not worth $1. Any number of free online generators can be used to generate this product or even better amounts of details for each settlement! Stick with a free online generator!

There are some decent ideas here. However, it is mainly useful as a starting point for getting you thinking about the types of enchantments and effects you would add to your own crafting system. This guide is not comprehensive enough for a stand-alone system.
Nice presentation and some novel effects; however, as others have said adds needless complexity for what a DM could simply introduce on their own in a loot item. Not fleshed out enough for putting into the PCs hands.

Provides a basic framework for creating a campaign crafting system. This could serve as a good starting point for expanding into a very detailed and refined crafting system. However, currently this guide is not very fleshed out and will take more work to properly implement into a campaign and provides only rudimentary ideas.
With some more development, this could turn into an interesting crafting system.

This "product" basically steals the Crafting Magic Items section from page 129 of the Dungeon Masters Guide and renames it "Mastercraft". Don't spend money on this, buy a DM Guide instead.
