I really loved this set, as it can be used for all time periods up to the last part of the 19th century. Great color, scale and design, it was very simple to put together yet appeared to be a detailed complex structure. You won't be dissappointed. This company has what others don't.

This is a good set, well crafted and relatively straight forward in construction. it is not the easiest of sets to build, but not the hardest, either. The pieces look very good, and were easy to attach to a cardboard backing (which I did for a set I built my son to play with). Cuttingout the white between ladder rungs, etc is more difficult, but the models look okay, maybe even better, if you don't.

A nice departure from standard castles. I particularly like the earthworks, gabions, and chevaux de friese, as I don't think they've been done in any other model kit yet. Well worth the price.

This set is terrific. The stronghold really looks great once it's made up. I was surprised at how sturdy the double-sided constructions are, should hold up under game play pretty well if players are reasonably careful.

If you're considering using tabletop miniatures and large scale reproductions of buildings/landscape etc., then you should look no further than the Dirt Cheep Strongholds set and it's accessories. Why pay the high costs of other reproductions AND THEN have to worry about painting them when you could be up and running in minutes?

O.k., you have your army, and the invaders are coming. What do you do? You build up an earthworks stronghold, thats what. Microtactix strikes again, with a set for building a modular earthworks stronghold, just the place for your army to retreat to. (Hopefully, the enemy hasn't gotten the Seige Engines set.)
