Cracking good fun, getting back to the days of the Famous Five and Magnificent errr, Secret Seven. Fast playing good old-fashioned English jolly hockey-sticks genre where every-one is easily identifiable as good or bad and the kids can make all the difference.

A nice game, and one covering a genre you're not going to see anywhere else.

LIKED: Simple rules focused on what's impotant in the genre (pleasant British children's book c.1940).

DISLIKED: The presentation wasn't brilliant.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Very Satisfied
WOW! What an amazing game. So simple, yet done to perfection. Having grown up with the Famous Five novels and Tv show, I immediately wanted to play this. The rules and particularly the skills perfectly reflect the genre and add to the total feel of the game.

LIKED: Captured the feel and the rules helped with the atmosphere.

DISLIKED: Nothing. It was perfect!

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
This is an excellent, small, quick game that emphasizes the genre very well. The descriptions of the skills are neat, and the scenarios (much needed for us grownups!) are extremely evocative. The price is right, the layout is good, and all in all a fine little product.

LIKED: Good price, good concept, good execution.

DISLIKED: The captions on the pictures took me out of the mood of the game. (They're very self-mocking, some quite funny, but not appropriate.) Indeed, without those captions, the game would almost be appropriate for kids themselves! Some more attention to using the features of PDFs would also be great.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Smashing. Absolutely smashing. I think there's more content than the previous, gratis version. There's certainly more art, though in some cases that's not an improvement. A delight to play, especially if you've ever read Blyton.

I purchased this on a whim. I remember those famous five books and TV. Show. I think it's neat little game that can work well for a change of pace on a rainy afternoon. I'm not sure if I will make ginger beer, but I have enjoyed the game. I personally like to see more games that break away from the beaten path. It even has rules for Timmy the dog.

Written very much from a British perspective, American audiences shouldn't have too much of a problem figuring out the language and slang used. The genre itself is common to any English speaking audience - American equivalents would be Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, Trixie Belden or The Bobsie Twins.

This is a very fun take on the child adventurer without any emphasis on violence as a solution to problems. In other words, a great entry product for younger gamers or ones for parents to play with their younger children.

Now this is just, well... smashing! This little game promises to be quite fun. If you've ever read those children's novel series' where the kids never grow up and can pack a million adventures into one summer, you'll know what's going on here.
