If you plan on spending any time on the high seas in 5th edition then you need to buy this book immediately. It will prepare you for the seas if it is a one shot or an entire campaign.

The highlight for me is Chapter 3. It gives you all the pieces and parts to make more pirates than your players can shake a rapier at!

Again, go get this book!

I recently purchased these sets to expand into being able to have a full wing of six. These cards are definitely different from those printed into the original boxes. That said it is easy enough to have these purcahsed cards replace all Grace, Intelellect, or Strength cards that a player woudl need. The issue would come in with the addition of the trait cards.

The last time I played Phoenix Dawn Command I used a Rank 3 character with a mix of old and new cards, and given that the split was fairly even it wasn't easy to tell what I woudl or wouldn't pull based on the card difference. If only a single card were replaced though it would be very noticeable.

The additon of the new traits though is a definite Pro to purchasing these sets, as any new/additional material is great to have!

Talk about Alchemistry! I think I'm in love! The class itself is great, but it isn't the real gem, or gems rather, in this document are the different alchemical traditions available. Any idea of an alchemist you can think of Rich Howard has already and fleshed it out with an amazing touch. Every table needs an alchemist, be that as a Player or the Dungeon Master. Grab this supplement as soon as you can, and get it onto your table! Nothing more really needs to be said, get this thing for yourself so you cans ee how great it is!

Prepare yourself for some great monsters! From CR1 to CR14 there is something in this book for you! "But I'm not running an underwater or ocean setting" not a problem. The world we live on is 71% covered in water but there is more than enough of it that isn't ocean you can put these amazing monsters into. The art work is great, the balance is on point, and the range of difficulty is impressive. What you get for a mere $4 is well worth those four dollars. Do yourself a favor and buy this, if for no other reason than to be inspired to let your game get outside of the box. I promise the water is jsut fine ... and deadly!
