RR7 Van Richten's Guide to Werebeasts (2e)

As the discussion mentions, this product is missing 2 pages:

Page 94 - Appendix for the DM - Summary Tables Page 95 - Warejaguar stat page

I am not too annoyed at this, because neither of these two are particularily useful for what I got this book for. This book is packed with Ware-lore. Habbits, lairs, mind-set, and any and all information that a DM could want to inspire their game. Also a good option for any player playing a Ware-hunting character.

Print quality is otherwise excellent.

RR8 Van Richten's Guide to the Created (2e)

Book Quality: Great print - Clear text and good contrast on the images, very good reproduction. High quality cover, great looking book.

Book Content: The Van Richten guide books are an amazing read. They are written in first person from Rudolfs perspective and are filled with "I hear that" and "I was told this" type setup. So not only is it great for a DM to use for inspiration on creating great new monsters and BBEGs, I would be fine with a player reading this book if he was playing a character that had a focus on the created.

The 5e Van Richtens guide is a good book with lots of options for players and DMs who want to run a Ravenloft game. I would however suggest that anyone interested in monster lore, pick up the 2ed books, even if they are not planning to run a ravenloft game.

Book of Lairs [Forgotten Realms] (2e)

Great print - No issues with any pages. Maps are good and the adventure ideas are really good as well. Maybe not the most enticing name though. One gripe, there is no print on the spine. This makes it look like an eyesore in my bookshelf, and most other print books (looking at stuff like Skullport) does have printing on the spine, so whats up Book of Lairs?

If you don't care about the spine, this is a 5/5 Star Review. Great replica of the original book.

Planescape Campaign Setting (2e)
Publisher: Wizards of the Coast
by Mats H. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 04/14/2024 10:05:28

Quality of Print: The reprint of the Planescape Campaign Setting as a book offers outstanding print quality. Despite the original being a box set with various components, the images and text in this edition are bright and clear, ensuring that none of the vibrant artwork and detailed descriptions are lost. For those looking to recreate the box set 100%, I recommend purchasing the PDF version alongside the print to assemble the various maps and handouts, as they come in the back of the book, and I would not want to put a razor to this book to get them out.

About the Book True to the spirit of many second edition Dungeons & Dragons products, this campaign setting is densely packed with lore, the Planescape universe feels alive in this book and rather than focusing heavily on game mechanics, you get an ambience that 5e is lacking. This book is a must-have for any fan of the Planescape universe or collectors of D&D historical editions. Its detailed portrayal of the cosmos and the factions within offers endless inspiration for creating intriguing and memorable adventures. Whether used as a direct campaign setting or a supplementary guide for world-building, it stands out as a valuable resource.

Since the only review for this is saying it does not work, wanted to let anyone know that this works fine. It is a great scan as well, high quality pictures and bright colors. Excellent work on whomever did this.

Now, can we get this adventure trilogy in a Print on Demand?

d20 Modern Core Rulebook (d20M)
Publisher: Wizards of the Coast
by Mats H. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 04/14/2024 09:48:05

Quality of Print: The d20 Modern Core Rulebook impresses with its solid hardcover and impeccable print quality. The images are clear, and the text is highly readable, making it a durable addition to any gamer's collection.

Product Review d20 Modern is a weird sidetrip in the D20 history. Its attempt to adapt D&D mechanics to a variety of contemporary and futuristic settings makes it a fascinating study for enthusiasts, but unless you have a group that is eager to do some d20 Modern, it is very much for the hardcore fans.

Personal Experience: Already possessing Urban Arcana and the Menace Manual, acquiring this core book was essential for me to utilize my existing collection fully. Very happy I could get a print copy of this.

Would also buy d20 Weapons Locker, d20 Future, d20 Past, d20 Apocalypse, and d20 Future Tech if these showed up as Print on Demand.

Ruins of Zhentil Keep (2e)
Publisher: Wizards of the Coast
by Mats H. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 04/14/2024 09:33:48

I had this box set as a kid, and remember loving reading it. - I am very pleased with the way this book has been put togheter, the quality of the print is very high and don't seem to have any issues that the PDF seems to have based on the discussion here.

Reading it now, I am not sure if the focus on this product was as good as say The North, or Spellbound, both of whom are amazing. The campaign book of Zhentil keep is more about a History of the Keep and it's current state, along with information the Zhentarim as a whole, magic items and some npcs. The second part of the book is an adventure, and some new monsters. This means that a destroyed city gets about as writing about it as Waterdeep does in City of Splendors box set.

Is it worth the money? Ohyes, it's a solid print and great for anyone interested in the history of Zhentil Keep or the Zhentarim, but it is not the best Box Set in 2ed.

RR3 Van Richten's Guide to Vampires (2e)
Publisher: Wizards of the Coast
by Mats H. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 04/14/2024 08:46:34

Van Richten's Guide's are perhaps some of the best Lore books in the D&D bibliography, and To Vampires is among the best of them.

The highlighted review does a great deep dive into all the aspects of this book, and I cannot improve on that. I do want to highlight that this book does not have the title on it's spine, something Warewolves and Created - This makes it a bit of an eyesore in the bookshelf. - But content wise, 10/10.

I had this as the original printing back in the day, but this POD is far superior. (better color, better binding, love the cover) The only thing I would comment on is that the books are organized alphabetically and not how they were originally intended.
