D&D Solo Adventure: The Death Knight's Squire

This is by far the most enjoyment I have had in a solo adventure! I like many of the comments I have seen am not able due to work and life meet with a gaming group on a consistent basis. I am usually stuck reading old adventures for fun, in those rare moments I do get to play with a group I am usually asked to be the DM. The adventure flowed very well for solo play and allowed the player to do the many different things which was a lot of fun. I loved the character class options such as: if you are a rogue go here, if you are a barbarian or wizard go here, very nice touch to class option specifics. I will not give away any spoilers, but I had 2 hp's left when I struck the final blow to complete the adventure, very well balanced and fun. The only thing I would add is perhaps larger areas and more obstacles with the locations and maps, I normally play a rogue and movement is key to most encounters. There isn't room to dash etc. I know that the pages had to be small for printing etc. but all areas and rooms are really small spaces. Much thanks to the author for these solo adventures and the format of embedding links in the PDF which is great. He (the author) has stated that he intends to start here and go all the way to level 20 with an adventure for each level. I am onboard for that! I am going to go and buy the second one "Tyrant of Zhentil Keep" right now, I will buy each one as he releases them, loads of fun. Definitely worth the price, much content here and a lot of replay in this module. I intend to run a few other character classes through it also.

Others have already stated how great and how deadly / difficult this adventure really is, so I will not elaborate further on those statements. What I will comment on is the quality of the scan. it is one of the best I have downloaded on this site, very clear and colorful a true to quality scan. If you don't own this like I didn't, pick it up as it is very much worth the price it is here for. I cannot wait until my group is high enough to run this, hopefully we can make it most of the way through it before we die! Look forward to the challenge.

This was my first larger adventure that I purchased back as a an 11 year old. I still own the orignial copy, but wanted to get this so I can print out the adventure and maps more easily instead of photo copying or scanning them. Overall the scan on this is great with everything that should be included. It has the pages also for the DM screen and the Ravenloft character sheet. This is one of if not my favorite adventure ever, yes even with all of the extra work it requires to DM it. I have played it twice and look forward to playing it again now that I have a great scan I can write upon and use to work. If you don't own this I would highly recommend it, by far the best overall Ravenloft adventure with the exception of I6. Many months ahead of playing for your group when you kick this one off. This scan contains everything you need to play it, it is complete.

I have wanted a new copy of this adventure for a while and decided to pull the trigger considering the price was down to $4.99. My players and I have run this adveneture before, it is a real ringer in some areas and may be off by a few levels in difficulty with some areas if you are not carful (2nd dungeon) ending a TPK. The scan and maps are really clear. I like the ease of a pdf better than having the orignial copy in that I can make copies of maps and areas easier for reference and write upon what I printed. If you are on the fence I would get it as the scan and clarity are great.
