Nice, simple rules for pre- repeating firearms-era skirmish battles of around a half dozen models on a side. Nicely adapts and expands the Fistful of Lead Old West era with more detailed rules for hand-to-hand combat and muzzle-loaders, among other things.
it's an exciting and fun way to use a few models to create battles ranging from the 1700s to the early Victorian era.
However, the editing is terrible, with multiple obvious typos. It's embarrassing, especially given that this is also a print product, and, one assumes, the print edition went out this way. A single pass by a copyeditor could have fixed this. Why one wasn't used I don't know, but it doesn't give me a lot of confidence when the publisher lacks the respect for his customers to put out a finished product. If it were a freebie product this would be more understandable, but I have numerous free or very inexpensive rulesets with less errors. That the errors still aren't fixed even though the prduct has been out for months suggests that the author and publisher are content for it to remain this way.
It's a decent, fun product marred by a lack of editorial oversight. HOPEFULLY THE PUBLISHER WILL NOTICE AND EDIT IT.
