There's really not much to say. This is it: THE 2nd Edition book on illithids. And it's so full of information that can be used independent of any game system. It's one of Cordell's best works, and a prominent feature in his own personal continuity amongst (A)D&D books. His own continuity makes his works a joy to read and hunt for clues, and this is a rich feeding ground for just that. And the rules material is brilliant, as always. A classic Treaty on the Illithid, well written, I just wish they had a "pigdin" translation of the writing method of the Illithid.

Very good product. Illithids are covered in every details. Much better than the Beholders sourcebook.

I am rating the quality of the pdf more than the contents. This appears to be a scan of the original book. There is only minor skew for the contents, and even though the text goes almost edge-to-edge, at appears nothing was lost. This appears to be one of the better scan jobs done on these old TSR books.

If you are hoping to duplex print this on three-hole paper, forget it. The text on both edges is almost to the edge, and some of it may be lost if your printer does not support edge-to-edge printing.
