(DISCLOSURE: I recieved this as a part of a contest, so the product was free for me.)
This pack includes two extensive lists, where each item is definitely thought out. Each option for either table is fairly different from the other options within that table, mixing in stat boots with random magical effects. For the DM who feels like their game is feeling a bit same-y, this will absolutely spice up combat. You can't roll on this table and have the combat carry on as usual. It will spice up an interraction with enemies and give a sense of newness to old encouters. If you want to put the random in "random encountars", this pack with definitely do the trick.
Some things to note about the tables:
Some of the Critical Hit/Fumble lists are mirrors of the other option, such as "Boost" which gives the player a temporary HP boost on the Critical Hit, or on the Critical Fumble which gives the enemy the boost instead. This allows the DM the opportunity to roll on it on the attacker/monster side to get some wild advantages if they crit. I like the idea that this is a new "world rule" in which the DM can benefit from its use, too.
Some of these options will need tailoring to add to a story. One option includes the random appearance of bees to help agress, but if you are in desert, inside a cave, or in the middle of an ocean, this may be a benefit that is hard to explain into the story. Likewise there are a few spell-like options that will also take some creativity.
The only thing about the list that I wouldn't be using would be the options that include some sort of permanency to characters. I can see where these sort of forced character changes by a DM would create friction and wouldn't be appreciated at certain table play styles.
All in all, a lot of work went into these lists, and for the addition of it being a mod for FREE, it's worth the few dollars to purchase it. Full of interesting and inventive ideas, it can help keep a freshness to encounters. I would inform and discuss with your players about these tables first, however.
