For those planning to start adventures in the 2nd edition Spelljammer setting, this book is rather useful. You can set up new characters specific to the campaign setting, as the book contains new race, class/kit, proficiency descriptions - but also describes the workings of space based organizations and even has some useful tips for DMs on setting up campaigns. You'll definitelly need the Spelljammer boxed set for your campaign, but this little booklet is a nice addition to that. Furthermore, it is practically tailor-made for being print-on-demand: It's almost entirely black and white with mostly line-based graphics. It looks rather good. Some graphics here and there have a slight blur and the occasional colors are a little off, but I honestly don't mind that. All in all, a really good, but maybe not a must-have product. The main reason I'm reducting a point is the slightly damaged state my book arrived.

POD version is a great resource for any spelljammer campaign. PDF is unreadable on most of the pages. Glad I got both.

This is a fantastic resource for a Spelljammer campaign, and I believe it is one of the finest supplements ever published for the 2nd edition AD&D game. As far as the quality of the reprint... I wish it felt more like the original. It doesn't. The cover and paper are noticably different. That said, I knew very well I was getting a reprint, and the price was fantastic (less than a third the price of the cheapest used copies). The quality, at least at first examination, seems to be very good. The printing is not quite as crisp as the original, because of the process of reprinting from pictures, but it is better than I expected (and far better than I feared it might be). It is too early to tell how well the binding will hold up after frequent use, but it certainly looks and feels secure. Overall, I expected a usable copy, and feared I would get a poor quality copy. What I actually received is a very good reprint at a very good price.

Fun if quirky "Player's Guide" to the Spelljammer setting.

This has been a great addition to my campaign. While the Kits don’t see any use (I’m using the 3.5 rules) the rest was a great way to flesh out the campaign.
