This is a welcome addition to the Tyranny of Dragons storyline, as it fills a much-needed gap in terms of providing the characters with a concrete opportunity to gain the alliance of giants (which, while presented as an option in The Rise of Tiamat, is not fleshed out at all). It is also a fun diversion from the more combat-oriented episodes from RoT, as this scenario focuses more on the exploration and social interaction pillars.

One word of warning: If Skyreach Castle didn't crash at the end of your group's playthrough of Hoard of the Dragon Queen, then this adventure may not be all that useful to you.
