Great range of NPCs! I will definitely make use of this in my games I DM. The choices of NPCs to reflect various types of personages, some based on player classes and others on nonplayer roles was excellent. I have not yet used these in combat in my games so I reserve as to whether the stats have any minor errors or are accurate for Challenge rating until I do so, but from a first reading this thirty seven page product looks awesome and very useful.

I bought and quickly read it and it looks like a great expansion to use in between Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat. Some interesting possibilities for roleplaying, negotiation, and strategic combat. Five stars.

I also can't speak to the CR's accuracy yet until I try the monsters in actual play, but reading over this product, I'm glad I bought it and will put it to good use. I would love to see more similar products with even more variety of more powerful versions of common humanoid and beast monsters and also more powerful versions of mind flayers, aboleth, etc. with more specialized powers so it is possible to put together an adventure featuring an orc city, or a hobgoblin invasion, or mind flayer lair, and offer a variety of encounters with the same monster type.
