Egh..... possibly one could make something out of the skeleton of the adventure, but you pretty much have to gut the entire printed adventure and start from the skeleton.

this is a 2/5, maybe even a 1. its story is lackluster, its design seemes rushed, and the adventure isnt that great...

this module was the one that comvinced me to make yourube reviews, somit has thatbgoing for it. But only because no one else had really done one on it. I decided to share my pain with everyone else.

now... dont get me wrong, there are worse adventures out there.... but this was one published and released by TSR... there was a certain expectation. And this one fauled to meet it.

This is probably one of the best Campaigns ever written in 64 pages (Yeah, you read that right, campaign, not adventure)

TSR UK did some great work on this one, and I cant recommend this one enough. Its got everything a begining group of players would ever want.

If it wasnt for B2 being written by Gygax and being one of the original modules, This one would probably be my favorite of all time.

3 out of 5. This was a freebie back in the day, and it shows, pretty basic short adventure where the players have to go reclaim the Jade statuette. Its ok for a one shot addition into a campaign. Or even a one shot for starting players.

Video Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7SQwtzSzI4 So, this is a good adventure, but takes a little bit of work, mostly a series of set encounters, not much sandboxing, which usually isnt my thing, But this is a great way to introduce your players to inluential organizations in a city, even if all you really do is change some names around to fit your setting.

4/5 Mainly because some things arent exactly clear, but still great.

Its a decent adventure, going to different planes, using magical mirrors, saving nobles, rescuing slaves and fighting a potential big bad. Not the best, not the worst (far far far from the worst)

Pros:

-Another adventure called Stonefast (You only need to add the monsters that fit your world design)

-Includes 60+ monsters stat

-Scan Quality is good

-formatted DM screen for easier printing

-Rules for passive healing

Cons:

-No Zanzars dungeon map in the PDF (Which is noted in the description) as of March 3rd 2022.

-Missed some of the character standups

-Missing the poster that came in the original box (No big deal, more of a promotional thing)

Truthfully this is a decent buy in of itself. This pairs well with the Rules Cyclopedia and is a more digestable form of the same rules, which are really just reorganized Mentzer BECMI rules. This set will cover players and dungeon masters from Levels 1-5, contains all the necessary rules, 3 adventures, 70-ish monster stat blocks. All the classes are in the book, along with most of the spells they'll be able to access at levels 1-5.

Those of you who know about the evolution of "Basic" Dungeons & Dragons will know this is the 5th and final iteration of it. Though it may be said that this is just a repackaging of the 4th iteration (The New Easy to Master Dungeons and Dragons Box set, aka Black box D&D) with the Dragon Cards that were seperate from the rule book in the black box being put back into the book itself for this version(This was an improvement, the cards were kind of a pain to deal with alot of the times) These 2 sets may also be known as the Denning sets.

Worth a buy in my opinion, and probably the best rulebook to introduce new players to BECMI or the Rules Cyclopedia, though this would be better if it was POD.

I have recieved my copy of the POD version of this book. Its a novel sized print rather then a magazine sized print like most of the DnD products, and the interior quality is good.

• No issue with interior print
• The material in the book is excellent
• Can be used for pretty much any gaming system you want.

• wealth of information

• The cover and back of the book are blurry to the point you cant really read the small print

Even with that detractor its well worth its cost

POD review. I also bought the POD when it became available. Its of excellent quality. The printing is crisp, and easily legible, the pages are in color, and everything is there. I only wish they would add book ribbons so I can separate the different books, but thats just a wanted extra, the book is good and any DM of any Edition will find it useful.

Bought the POD and PDF. Both are good scans, the book is not blurry and everything appears to be crisp and clear.

would recommend buying the bundle with the PDF so you can print off player aids and player guides rather then handing them this bulky book though.

As for the information contained within, also very good, as someone who had never played in it I found it interesting.

I ordered and recieved the POD in February 2020. It's a well done and put together book. The maps and are split into page. sized slices (Drivethru RPG doesnt do full poster maps to my knowledge) and if you want to print them off you'll want to get the PDF.

there are some minor issues of Bleed through on certain pages, but none of these impact the reading of the book.

well worth the money.

bought the hardcover version and I like it. only negative is the binding could be better, I ended up gluing mine together again on my own.

+scans are good +pages are aligned and it is well put together -Binding could be better.
