(Only Minor Spoilers)
I got to preview this module and on my first read of the early draft I instantly liked the story and the villains. I have looked forward to running it for my home group. I've had the chance to watch another DM run it, but I haven't yet run it myself, though at this point I have read it through several times.
Swamp of Sorrow is pretty well organized and has some great roleplaying opportunities. There's a lovely tragic story woven into this module that I think many players will enjoy unraveling. I really like the NPCs. Quintessa and Eshi'i are interesting characters with depth that might challenge your players' assumptions. In fact, it may be fun to tease their expectations, read the module to see what I mean! It is also worth saying there's a straight-forward way for this story to unfold with (hopefully) a happy ending, but there's plenty of elbow room for alternative outcomes too.
The bonus objectives do a lot more than just drag out the module time. They interconnect well with the main objective and build a history around the NPCs and the village of Bloodpurge, making it feel like a real place. I recommend DMs take note of Objective B especially. The Green Man is another great NPC in this module and if you're using this for non-AL play, would make a great NPC to return to again and again.
I think the main bad guys, a hag coven, are deliciously classic baddies. The write makes apparent their vivid personalities just from the names alone, but combined with their descriptions it is really easy for a DM to bring them to life at the table. Because this is a Tier 2 module, I think it does a good job of challenging players. But because of the hag types, if needed, a DM can have a lot of fun adjusting the hags encounter by adding different thematic monsters (AL DMs, remember you're allowed to do this!) if they need to challenge more experienced players. Also, catoblepas just don't get enough love!!
The module includes 4 well-drawn maps that are designed with grayscale printing in mind, which is nice for ink-saving if you need to print them.
