T1 The Village of Hommlet (1e)

As far as I'm concerned, The Village of Hommlet is the classic introduction to AD&D 1ed. I cut my teeth on this when I was 12. Now I play periodically with my wife and my son, we take turns being the DM. This was a good adventure for a new DM.

LIKED: It is nice that there is a village for more free-form role-laying & a dungeon for more straight-forward play.

DISLIKED: As a player, I'm not sure what motivated us to go the the ruins in the first place. A nice subplot in the village would have been nice.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
My 11-year old wanted to try to be DM. This was a perfect module to let him do. The adventure is divided up into smaller "chapters." The story is straight-forward, but still interesting. We used it to start a brand new group of 1st level characters, that meet in the course of this adventure and now are moving on to bigger challenges as a team.

LIKED: The "chapter" format kept the story moving along w/o being too restricting.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
