I was a little disappointed with this so called combined version. Yes its all here but its been snipped down a little in parts with some changes to the original story intros in order to match it in together. Some of the original art remains & some new stuff has been added. The sad thing is the new stuff is rather hit & miss. This is not a bad bundle its just could of been a lot better.

LIKED: Its a good grab bag. All the maps are here & if thats all you wanted then this would be fine.

DISLIKED: The actual content is good but could of been better, that's more to do with TSR really then anybody else

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
Lolth and her minions! Players beware! This is a campaign for pitting players against the dark machinations of the drow. Good luck trying.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
I purchased this mainly because I no longer had copies of the original seperate modules. Overall the product covers all 7 modules from Giants to Drow to the Spider Queen herself Lolth, but in combining them it also lost something as the modules sort of get collapsed together.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
You cannot go wrong with this product. Definitely a key set of documents in the history of gaming (in their orginal forms), these are also great fun to boot!

I believe the "proper" progression is to get the Temple of Elemental Evil set (T1-T4) first, which would bring characters from 1st level to a level capable of tackling the Drow goddess, but I never did it that way and don't feel that it detracts to not have done so. I actually plan on running this with another game system my second time through (15 years later) and this layout is well suited to do that.

I mean, really, how often do you get essentially seven modules (proper term here) for such a good price?

LIKED: Bringing G1-G3, D1-D3, and Q1 all together for such a great value.

DISLIKED: Would have liked a color map of the demonweb, but it might not have been available in this compilation.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
You can't beat getting all seven of these modules for just five bucks...mostly when you consider the quality of the scans. The Against the Giants series was always a classic teasure haul. And the drow make wonderful enemies. Finish it off with a trip to off Lolth. Please...there is a reason these modules were so popular.

LIKED: Challenging...and classic!

DISLIKED: Nothing.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
This is a great compilation. The scan is not that great, as is the case with most of the original TSR scans.

LIKED: This is probably the most famous of the 1st edition module series. Classic dungeon crawling at it's best.

DISLIKED: I didn't like some of the material they added to connect the modules together. For example they have the players come upon a giant black bubble slowly eating the city. Then they are sent to fight the giants. It doesn't take much to realize that giant interplanar bubbles are not the normal tactics of giants, and that there must be something else behind it. This makes the first three modules feel like filler before you get to the drow, which wasn't the case in the original versions.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Very Satisfied
WOW!!! I already had all the original stand-alone modules (except Queen of the Demonweb Pits), but there's so much more to the combined, updated modules. For one thing, it has great lead-in info for the Slave Lords' series, and there is now a whole plot (besides stop giants, get treasure) to enhance the role-playing experience. I expected to get a little more info, but nowhere near to the volume that's included. It was definately a better value than I expected, and I already expected it to be an awesome purchase.

LIKED: Great lead-in, excellent plot, consequences of inaction and failure, very good story to go with the challenge.

DISLIKED: Nothing.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
A mother-lode of gaming goodness in one product. Not just a compilation of seven (count 'em, seven) old-school classic modules, but some extra intro and epilogue adventure ideas as well.

LIKED: Excellent value. Tons of material under one cover.

DISLIKED: Rarely a portion of the text isn't exactly crystal-clear, but its literally a just a word or part of a line here and there. Given the massive scope of the product, this is to be expected.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Great adventure, a classic. I have been looking for this hard-to-find module for a while, and I am not dissapointed by this PDF!

LIKED: The scans were generally good. The entire product was included. The classic g1-3, d1-3 and q1 modules are all combined in this massive module, some original artwork remains but also some new ones seem to have crept in. The modules have been amended slightly to flow together. The massive campaign of t1-4, a1-4 and this module mean players can go from level 1 to 14, assuming they stay alive!! I played these way back in the 80's and have fond memories...foolishly I sold them all to a kid when I upgraded to 2nd edition...doh! Its great to get them back and so cheaply. The scan is ok but could be better, a bit soft and blurry in places. Recommend picking this up, just set your expectations to old style!

LIKED: Its a classic, it was cheap, its usable as is

DISLIKED: scan could be better, some blurry and softness in lots of places

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
REVIEW: Gary Gygax adventures are in some ways still the best adventures around because of the sparse elegance of their style, their use of archetypal monsters and symbols and the way they brought the intelligent monster attack into common use. In Queen of the Spiders, players find their characters dragged through a variety of different settings, from the halls, steadings and hills of the giant lords to the depths of the Kuo-Tuans and the drow and then on to the demonweb pits. Yet above all, we are waiting for the arrival of the scantily clad and frankly rather nubile spider-queen-goddess depicted on the cover ? anyone else remember the 1980s?

Along the way, we meet all four elements and travel from the top to the bottom of the earth. We meet implacable and relentless foes, most of whom give us little option but to exterminate them and steal their possessions. We ? this is Gary Gygax ? occasionally come across the safe haven that the author provides for the heroes to establish a base, rest and recover their spells before the next assault on the bad guys. This is the adventure as the tactical squad assault and role playing is generally restricted to what grizzled fighters and mages can afford without compromising their combat and looting efficiency. If there are reservations about this adventure now, it is that players who have come to the hobby in later years will expect different conventions ? more interaction with NPCs, more possibilities to escape from the linear story line and so forth. Besides which, D20 systems and their ilk are not really backwards-compatible anyway without some tedious fiddling about. However, for those who enjoyed D&D as it used to be, this is great fun. Where?s my potion of extra-healing, I?ve got dark elfs to slay!

Excellent continuation of Temple and Slave Lords. The quality of product is only outweighed by the incredibly cheap price.

Well it's a DnD classic what else can be really said. I bought it because of my interest in Drow. This is sort of the origin of Drow, so I wanted to check it out. I'm not really sure how playable it is, my game is stuck in modern times right now, but I have 20years DnD exp and it looks good to me so far, with a good DM at the wheel of course. All the older adventures demand a good DM to keep it right.
