Village Book II (1979)

Great little book, well worth the $1.99 price tag. Even $3.00 would have been ok. Neat little villages, all sorts, from river and shore to plains and forested. Yes there simple but thats is the beauty of them. Plus the added data on heraldry isn't bad as well. A good little buy.

These were very useful and I enjoyed using them. My players really liked the fact that they could tell by sight, as I printed them in colour, where Ice and no Ice was. I used some parts of other sets I have and combined them well.<br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: Very cool, colour prints just were very good to enhance the feel of in Ice Caves.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: If I hadn't had several adventures tied to the Ice caves in my campaign I wouldn't have bought the product. It is a niche which I happen to have in my game but if you don't then don't buy it.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br>

Complete Item Cards
Publisher: The Other Game Company
by David W. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 02/09/2007 00:00:00

I just got this and it rocks.

I am very happy with it.

This is about a week since I got it and started using it. What fun I had handing my party a wad of stuff. I first gave them a list of what they found in the Brightstone Keep they had just won over from Orcs. Which was fine but then the cards just so enhanced the experience. I have also used the free blank ones to make some of my own.

A neat trick I did was write up the item twice, The first time with just the description of it and the second time with the D20 rules data. So they know they have Emer Fur Leather boots with elven bead work but until they Identify, they won't know it adds 10' to their movment. But as they got about 9 different items they won't have resources or time to ID them all right away. Much fun as I watched them try to figure what ones to do before chasing off after the Orcs that got away with the sacrifices.

<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: It has all the D20 items so that is great. I really like the free ones they provide on their web site so I play with my own items.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: You can't edit them but that is come and I can wait. I would say that I have only a slight problem with having to print the 9 items on a page when I only wanted one of them. Really though for me thats minor and who knows maybe I can use those items another time.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br><BR>[THIS REVIEW WAS EDITED]<BR>

Staves of Ascendance
Publisher: The Game Mechanics
by David W. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 08/28/2003 00:00:00

This was ok. Nothing Super though the idea is very very intriging. I just wish they better explained how and why the mechanics work. They give you a bunch of sample prestige classes but I just felt it was lacking in clarification to create my own for my game.

Now since they made this they have but teh Staves and Sowrds together in a print for mat and I did buy that hoping for more clarity and more options but sadly I was disappointed.

This is a neat idea but not carried off super well, just ok.

A very nice looking and nicely done product. The items add a neat twist to tresure and have inspired me to try and add similar embelishment to my own items that I add to the game. It even had a few interesting game mechanic bits, though only a few. I definetly enjoyed the items and though not all of them suit my game they gave me ideas and thats always a good thing for a stressed DM.

Book of Templates

This was a nice idea, and I certainly got a few ideas from it as well. But some of the templates I felt were certainly unbalanced and some just didn't suit my needs. Some were quite neat like the Quickling one and the plant one gave me some ideas for some nasty plant ideas I had. But overall it was just ok, I honestly wouldn't even call it good, just ok. It did give me some ideas though, but nothing to write home about.

AOTA 3 B Items and Weapons

Date Added: 08/28/2003 00:00:00

Yes Elven Weapons and Armour and items. Very nice, good art work as before. I was not disappointed at all. I would have prefered a few more "Natural" items, things like animal hide, wood and plant more strongly influence but it was stil good stuff. More aimed though at elves as crafters of metal and glass and the like. Which isn't bad just my elves are more feral and natural so I use the items as long made items from ancient times of the elves. Some work though for me with just the use of coloured pencils sticking to browns and greens.

A nice book. It is very specific to the environment but thats why I bought it. My party is haeding into just such a place so it has given me some ideas, some unique spells to add that are intresting to the game. If your not adventureing in such a dry climate them I wouldn't recommend it as I really didn't feel to much was added in that way but is was nicely done and I liked it.

Complete Spell Cards - Updated
Publisher: The Other Game Company
by David W. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 08/28/2003 00:00:00

This is Great. I saw the blank ones and I was very interested when they said they would have all the SRD spells out soon. I am very glad they gave a sample sheet before as well as I was able to use my computer to print them back to back, and cut them out. Plus I was able to laminate them and they look great, and should last a while. The only bad thing I would say is that if your printer can't do double sided printing on it's own them you'll have to flip the paper over and print a page at a time where I can just set things to double side print and looked great. Though the info on the bakcs isn't critical if all your looking for is a fast reference tool about ranges and such.

Overall I am very pleased with this product and though I gave it a 4 out of 5 that is because though useful, I still have to make blank cards and write up spells from other sources which won't look as nice as the ones they give. Plus though useful they aren't earth shattering, just very nice addition to my games.

Great idea. I have up to now huose ruled on a few things but it was nice to have some rules, which I liked to add a bit of structure to what I was doing. the idea that acid from the swamp monster once colledted augmented the Melf's acid arrow spell has been used to great effect by my players. Even to the point of them going into the swamp with the single reason to get the stuff and sell teh excess to the local alchemist but keep a lot for them selves.

All the ideas have been interesting and I have enjoyed this product a lot!

This was another great idea they have put out there. I really like adding things of this nature to the game. By casting a spell of weather or storm in a storm or the like your spell is boosted by your diety as well other things all with a divine bent to them. I have already begun using these as treasures for the party, which they make great use of. In my campaign which is magic poor these are a great addition

Druids & Druidism
Publisher: Bastion Press
by David W. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 05/12/2003 00:00:00

What a good book this is. Though a tad high on price it does give you 68 pages of stuff as the front is pic and back page has the license thing. I liked that you get a pretty one and a black and white one for easy printing. I liked the added spells, which are all druid and/or Ranger spells. I also enjoyed the ideas about competions, for swimming and shooting and the like. The Prestige classes were interesting, though not all of them work in my world, when do they all work. I liked the stress that they aren't just in the woods. That druids are in the oceans and rivers, and in the desert and artic.

It was well worth the money.

The Enchiridion of Treasures and Objects d'Art
Publisher: S.T. Cooley Publishing
by David W. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 04/21/2003 00:00:00

Wow!

That was my first reaction to the sheer volume of this product. Over 80 pages listing gems, furs, woods and other things. Giving a bit of info but the REALLY kewl thing was the mystic ability that each item has. It makes great for low level characters or for a low magic campaign as I run.

The information on a different approach to crafting, and economics weren't bad iether.

Though I was a bit worried at teh cost of 10.00 US, I was very pleasently surprised by what I got. I would surely have bought such an item if it had shown up in my store and to get in a PDF is so much easier as I am really the only one who needs to read it, as I run the game though I can always print off sections players may want to see, though not the information on the various items, thats for them to discover.

Thanks for a great product.

The Book of Distinctions & Drawbacks
Publisher: Cryptosnark Games
by David W. [Verified Purchaser]

This is a great product.

Why? Well it gives characters some much needed roleplaying meat to help flesh out a character. As long as a GM makes sure not to let players go crazy with them which could unbalance a game. But one or two really make for a great game addition. My players all liked them. I plan to add them into the game slowly.

Some of them I don't think anyone would ever take but the vast majority of the rest of them are very useful. The end part which allows for players to have boats, keeps and such or even just simple investments really adds something that I was looking for.

Over all well worth the money.
