Gah! so good!
I am currently running a dungeons and dragons campaign with some new players, all of which are all well versed in fantasy tropes, and the ability this work has to give me stuff from complete left field to throw at them is invaluable to my campaign so far, making my world feel unique and unusual just due to the occasional, unusally detailed strange phenomena. the art is blurry, some of the tables and stats are written in a system I've never even heard of, and the whole thing is grainy and hard to read at times, but somehow, it adds to the charm, giving strange ideas rather than ready to use monsters, forcing the DM to figure out how the strange things introduced work, and making the end product better for the players. it also helps that the descriptions are written with such character, wrapping the whole thing up in this irresistable and strange charm that leaves the reader intrigued and wanting to use the nonsense they just read.
I can't wait for a sequel.
