This game is impressive and ambitious. It attempts to recreate the feel of film noir, specifically the noir crime dramas of the 30s through the 50s. The simple but effective system stays out of the way, allowing the book to concentrate on translating a film genre to RPG. A lot of the advice might be better suited to short storyline-campaigns rather than ongoing stories -- the one place I found it lacking was on addressing the serial nature of certain detective-heroes. First impressions are extremely good. A nice, simple system, which is what you want from a game where the emphasis should always be on plot, rather than number crunching. I will certainly be purchasing the other products in this line.
