An almost overwhelmingly rich product, especially for its pricetag, Narratives Unlimited D10 sounds promising in both the bredth of possibility afforded by its contents and the depth of research and thought that clearly went into writing it. The simulationist style, combined with the affordance of such a variety of game circumstances, reminded me of Basic Roleplay - which I see as a good thing, since I did like that game! While the product could stand some significant improvement in terms of design and visual appeal, that's very understandable, given that this is clearly not intended to be a finished one. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this for when it finally comes out!

The update did make the book easier to understand. And gives a very wide range of results for die rolls, as any roll on a d10 can turn out -40 or so to +40 or so. As in all universal systems, 2/3 or more of the book is useless if you are playing one genre as the rest is used in other genres.
