4.5 Stars: Amazing quality - but absolutely massive.
Modular tiles & maps, with a focus on detail. The tiles flow together quite well, and display quite nicely on VTT systems.
The Good
- Good looking
- Decent variety
- Generic enough to see repeat use
The Bad
- Gigantic files (~10MB per tile)
Unfortunately, if you're looking to use these tiles for VTT sessions, you should use a simple program to resize them about 50% to reduce upload speeds. This isn't hard to do, just annoying to do for a large batch, and not something you'll want to do in a hurry just to make sure that roll20 (for example) will allow the upload. For capped internet users (such as any Australian), this will also eat a massive chunk of bandwidth - only picking up the gridded maps from this, another pack, and a small selection of other modules came to 1.2GB. Even then, this would still rate 4.5 stars, as they're really good maps. If DTRPG would allow .5 adjustments, anyway.
Improvements?
A separate "VTT" folder within the pack with smaller (say, resampled to 1651^2 / 750KB) map tiles would bump this that last point.
Summary
Worth it, so far I've found use for them in two campaigns without any effort - beyond resampling the entire batch, that is.
Special note
Using the same review for the other items purchased at the same time.
