Great asset for our group running RMU. Looks like it handles the other flavors as well.

Using ERA with Rolemaster RMU still wanting creatures modules to be released. Has all the functions my players need. Helps speed up combat.

Well, interesting, I cannot even download it, it's an exe file and my virus software blocks it, says it's a virus. I know I could turn off the antivirus to get it but should not have to.
Follow up. I have manged to download it on another device. it is a exe file in a zip file, no idea why I had problems. I will test and update

It's rather jank. On the one hand, I truly do laud them for trying to make a compex character creation process easier while allowing exports to printable format but, on the other hand, I can't muster the forgiveness for the act of charging for the additional packages when it essentially hooks you up to some unknown server via direct port link. You've got to just trust them, I suppose, to use this tool.
Sell a package for roll20 and/or foundry. It might be a smidge better if character creaton followed the same process of the books but, as it is, you get lost trying to follow both. If you have a form fillable sheet for RM, you're better off and safer. This 'tool' is amateur, invasive and risky.
I've just checked, the roll20 sheets are a busted mess too.

Before ERA was published and FGU had his own FRPG ruleset, it was a pain to DM Rolemaster and only the most devoted players invested the many hours of time you need for a new character creation. The time changed and self made worksheets sufficed no more and players Today expecting more modern approaches.Today many people play online Rolemaster and it is quiet easy to get players for this detailed and extremely flexible Role-playing game. Thanks to ERA you have all rules online, can cast spells and make attacks and get crit results without ever needing a table to lookup. Not very intuitive sometimes and graphical oriented more as a tool, but lightning fast, you save many hours during character generation because you need not read all rules before you can start. Highly recommended, this product line lead for us to a renaissance of shadowworld and Rolemaster pen&paper activities, having no more need for long table searching time or looking where you have to find certain rules because you have all at your fingertips.

The tool takes a bit of effort to get into, but once the basics are understood and the necessary additional rule components are purchased it can be a really useful and powerful assistance tool. The base element alone has very little rule functionality.

The system is not put well together
Help menus do not give a detialed explanations and they are missing from the combat section altogether
Trial and error is niot a good way to learn a program
I could not add characters already made and could not save system generated characters becuase of "unspecified" errors
Something was missing from the options but the program did not say what
the combat screens were cryptic to use with no explanations or help menus
One the ICE Forum I found you tube links to how the program worked - that were dead - no video
One of the previous reviewers had it down - if you wish to spend A LOT of time learning how the system actually functions it may be beneficial to you
I programmed my own spreadsheet to work more intutitively than this
And maybe it does not have all the options this program SAYS is has - at least my spreadsheet is functional

Running Windows 10 and Fire Fox, both with the latest updates. Initially many icons refused to load, though they did work when you clicked where they were supposed to be. Also the bottom tabs on the character summary (bottom tabs? why bottom tabs?) didn't load their respective pages. I could still see the full character summary, though. When I tried to go back and edit some of my choices there were many minor glitches and issues with the navigation and graphics.
One person suggested I try Chrome, which I admitedly have not tried. The documentation this comes with, while lacking, does specify that it should work in Fire Fox. Had it said it was only supported in Chrome I wouldn't have given it a second look. But I did, and when I tried it a second time the application failed to load any characters at all; not my test one and niether of the default ones it comes with. This was just after I installed the recent Windows updates, but I can't say for sure that this was the cause or not.
Regardless, the software was too buggy and unprofessional for me to spend any money on. I'm sure for those who can get it to work it is likely a huge time-saver. And because the base software is free to download, you can see if you are able to get it working or not before you buy, which is nice. Unfortunately I can only rate it based on my own experience. Maybe when RMU comes out they will update this and it will be usable.

Since I discovered ERA, the time spent on character creation has been reduced dramatically; the traditional way is ideal for understanding the system but takes a very long time.
The combat menu is a bit difficult to understand at first. Of course there are the videos but the creator English language is a bit difficult to understand and he speaks very fast; A manual containing the same information as the videos would have been appreciated.
Also, the exported Character sheets for printing are really beautiful.
ERA is a great tool for my games of Rolemaster. Thank you Maximiliano Tabacman for creating this great tool and taking the time to update it.

This product requires practice to be fully exploited, but those who have the patience will have the perfect tool for any rolemaster GM.

Great product. I've been playing Rolemaster off and on for years (mostly FRP, because I prefer the way it handles spells), and I've used various utilities and spreadsheets for character creation and management over that time. Nothing holds a candle to ERA.
Sure, purchasing modules can get expensive, but you're paying for the convenience of not having to manually fill out the character sheet (in the late 90s, I actually had a group mutiny during character creation).
I’m giving this application five stars because it deserves it, but the following two things could be improved in subsequent versions:
1) We need an easier way to create your own content for ERA. ICE is never going to release a downloadable add-on for MERP for instance, but it would be nice if the fan community could easily work on supplements themselves.
2) The character record could better reflect a character’s inventory. In fact, an option to export a character sheet with a format identical to ICE’s official ones would be perfect.

I expected this to work flawlessly, the combat tool did not work on the stock monsters. That was my biggest frustration. Additionally, when creating a character I expected to be able to randomly generate stats with the RMFRP set. Lastly, the software is designed to run on a localhost using a web interface. Which is great provided you have the ability to connect to a router so that your players can do something with the software. In a lot places there were no buttons to return to the main module, so I had to use the back button far too frequently for my tastes.
The character sheet for printing is awful, as well, I'd expect that it would render in a very nice sheet that we could print and take to the table. I expected the ability to enter my own data as well.Purchasing the data packs is the route they decided to take, but if I don't have the extra money and I want to invest my time into entering the data myself, I expect to be able to do that. Overall its a decent attempt, but I am happy it didn't cost me anything to find out this wasn't really production ready.

The sample creatures have now been changed, and new sample attack and critical tables have been added, to allow a complete working example of the product. |

This application has huge potential! The complete lack of documentation is not helpful at all but the program is relatively intuitive once you realize the flow of the interface. I must admit that I did not view the Tutorial video before writing this and will modify my review if the tutorial answers all my questions. The free version is extremely limited but it has me interested enough to at least purchase Character Law and see what we have.

I have not been able to get it to open and do anything. So far all it does is take up memory.
