Villages - Clayton Moor

If you need a quick town to throw into campaign this might do the trick, but otherwise nothing special. The graphics for floorplans are blocky and repetitive and there is no artwork to round out character or building descripitions. The hooks for further adventures are light and none of them grabbed me. It's not very expensive, but for a few bucks more, you could get a lot more.

LIKED: the lack of lots detail means it can be used on short notice

DISLIKED: no artwork, simple graphics, little in the way of hooks

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Disappointed
Thanks for the comments, and we did tell you in the briefing on the product home page "will prove invaluable to GM?s requiring a quick location from which to base an adventure or simply provide a place to stay when the player are travelling." it is only a location (with ready made NPC's) for GM's wanting something very flexible to throw into a campaign, we could have done a more expensive product with a lot more specific detail, and in that you are quite correct, indeed we have got more expensive products, but we targeted the "Villages" range at the low cost end of the market for GM's wanting something cheap, quick, easy and flexible. So in many ways you are correct Arthur, however all customers should feel free to make a comment on our products, and please feel free to contact us directly with ideas for products you would like to see or even come on to our boards and chat with the writers, designers and staff; hopefully making our products the better for it. This is a very nice product. A place you could base you players in if you so desired or just have them pass through if that's what you want. There are lots of interesting plot hooks. The histories of the NPCs are detailed and well thought out. The artwork is not consistant and a bit uneven, but even so-so portraits help to imagine a character. I would have liked to have seen a few more floorplans and the artwork on the floorplans and maps is a bit sterile, but these are minor quibbles given the low sale price.

LIKED: good descriptions of NPCs, good plothooks

DISLIKED: could use more floorplans and drawings of the outside of buildings and a consistent style in the artwork

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
DOLLAR DUNGEON$-Floors

OK, so it's not a lot of money and the stone floor looks suitably stony, but this product has only been of so-so use to me. Part of the reason is that I really don't have any use for hexes or tiles (instead of squares) and visually the difference between the two types of stone is yellow vs grey, so there isn't much variety.
