Tharkold is an amazing combination of the dark future from the Terminator series and the demon-infested Earth in the Doom series. It was awesome to learn more about this brutal sci-fi fantasy cosm, it just would've been nice to have a bit more substance to it. The majority of this book gets into the statistics and game mechanics of the Tharkold cyberware and weaponry, leaving a less than satifactory amount of lore available to the player. This wouldn't be much of an issue if the book was cheaper (maybe in the 5-7 dollar range), but for a price of nearly 10 dollars, it does feel like a bit of a disappointment. Granted, this has been the case with a lot of the Ulisses Spiele reprints of the original game's lore, attaching prices that are bit beyond what the material is worth. My suggestion is to wait for a sale on the book, and maybe pick-up the L.A. Sourcebook for more background info on the Tharkold cosm.

Final Thoughts: Pretty good material with a smaller than usual amount of lore.
