Nice ideas, but not well presented. Very amateur in feel and a lot of 'well, the writer's knew what they were thinking, but they didn't explain it well' in many points. Definately needs a 'clean up' pass for the next version, but, again, there are nice ideas to be had.

A Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe

Lots of information, very historically accurate, but pretty dry. A must-have for those wanting to have some 'authentic' flavor in their campaign, but not an enjoyable read otherwise. Definately a reference book instead of a 'pleasure' read.

D&D Immortals Set (BECMI ed.) (Basic)

This is the final set in the classic Dungeons and Dragons series, though it goes in a new direction. This deals with immortals and gods, and introduces new rules and mechanics for handling pantheonic-advenutres. Fun, but not likely to see much use in a campaign, unless a Game Master really is planning on having his players run demigods...

Blood and Fists: Modern Martial Arts

Flexible and handles the various schools well, though geared for 'kung fu' action first and foremost. May not work well with other modern campaigns.

Parents should note, there's a LOT of mature themes and adult language in this book. Definately one of those that deserve a 'mature' rating. While I know that's part of the genre that they're shooting for, I can't help but feel it's over the top, and there's absolutely no warning about the content.

Simply put, this is an 'R' game. Good, overall, but not for kids.

Definately old school, and the rules look pretty archaic. But, for it's time, this was the epitome of gaming for high-powered characters. Lighter and looser than the 'AD&D' material, and great for quick games with a healthy dose of RPG Golden Age nostalgia.

A great supplment for handling an often-overlooked part of a fantasy setting. Bits and pieces may not fit every campaign, of course, but everything's useful. A must-have supplement for any fantasy, medieval, or rennaisance Game Master.

I'm going to start off being open and mention that I consider the main author a friend of mine. I've got a bit of a personal bias here, but I'll try to be fair.

Suffice to say, I know that Robo Macs is very much a labor of love. It's great for fun and quick pick-up games, and rules light. If you want a quick game of robots beating the snot out of one-another, here ya go.

Downside is that it's not really designed as open ended, and other genres can't easily adapt to the system. So very little mixing and matching with genres is possible.
