Just got my print copy and I gotta say, great fluff, better ideas, cleaner rules, awesome writing and great overall presentation. This is what Shadowrun should be but can't. It boiled down the world and everything that made it interesting and somehow made it even more interesting. I'm jonesin' to play this badly and look forward to anything further that will come out for this. Great job, Mr. Campbell!

I got to say, I absolutely love this setting. The amount of thought, effort and care put into this world is truly admirable. A lot of love was put into this. Everything makes sense and even things that shouldn't do. He made a Rubix Cube make sense and not seem out of place! The mythology, the scale, the uniqueness... so good! I'm not trying to gush (and I have not been paid to say this hah!), but I really get inspired by inspired writing and ideas and I love this. This game is an amalgam of Sword and Sandal with hints of Dune. You can't get any better than that for me. The art is amazing also, which really exemplifies the ideas being presented. I have not read the game mechanics in depth yet, though I know its a D12 roll under mechanic which seems simple enough. Anyway, I really recommend this game and tip my hat to Mr. Miller. Good job, my man!

Maelstrom Domesday

Gotta say, I love this game! You can tell a lot of love, interest and effort was put into this version of Maelstrom. From the extensive history, day to day life, culture, etc. to the traditional bestiary that doesn't seem out of place, this game showed that the makers cared about the subject matter.

The game itself uses a D100 system, which if you're familiar and like Call of Cthulhu (which I am looking into introducing monsters and such from it into my Domesday game), all the concepts are there and easy to follow. Whether you are a proponent of D100 or not, the lifepath character generation is a fun game in itself. Taking the random journey through your character's life before your adventures is such a great time. No joke! The magic system also harkens to Ars Magica, with me being never a fan of Vancian magic, I love it! There's more creativity involved, which with low magic I appreciate.

Only critique I have is I wish there was more products to add to it. And in products, I mean supplemental tools to add more monsters, other parts of the world during this time period or things to add more fantastical elements to the game. I know these things would take away from the purpose of the game, but I could see this ruleset as the quintessential Warhammer Fantasy successor, especially with that lifepath system being expanded to even more gritty occupations and such.

Highly recommend this game!

The Erwinian Roleplaying System: Core Rules
Publisher: Erwin Games
by James R M. [Verified Purchaser]

I am only writing an initial impression review, because I want to get the actual physical copy (which is on the way) to totally dive in to digest the Erwinian ruleset (I'm not a huge fan of reading on my computer).

First, you can really tell the influences of the writers. There is a heavy Palladium vibe with these rules with how skills are used, gun combat, etc. I like Palladium games, but where Palladium has some rule aspects that don't appeal to me, the Erwinian ruleset takes the better ones and cleans them up so they are coherent and fluid. They then take those rules and meshes them with some old school D&D, maybe even the Black Hack roll under mechanic. What you get is a ruleset that has enough crunch and enough freedom to be able to construct whatever you want. I am very excited by the Erwinian System. I want to run something with this engine. I am fully onboard with this game and am eyeing up the other books they got available to see how they handle the different genres.

Good job, guys! You got a fan, for sure, in me!

Super Action Role-Play

I have to say, I've been reading this in chunks and I really like the mechanics of this game. Its simple and handles a lot of the superhero tropes quite well. Not really for cosmic level play, but for a good street level up to Spider-Man power level, it does a great job. I like this game and the fact that they include skirmish rules for minis and alternate ways to do things (cards for initiative) you can tell there's effort and a love of the genre on display. Anyone who notes Copra, Justice Machine and Suicide Squad (hoping the 80's version) has my full support. I want to run a game of this at some point and have a bunch of minis on the table for it.

The only real critique I have is the layout. This is the only reason I didn't give it a five rating. There are a lot of empty spaces that could have used more of the great art shown elsewhere in this book. The art is awesome. It has a real old school-mixed with a more indie feel which scratches my itch for superhero aesthetics. Jay Piscopo is awesome! So with that said, the book felt sort of unfinished and I sorely wanted more of Jay's art to fill those spaces. I even caught myself thinking that I'd like to just send some of my art in for free just to fill it. Hah! So, its a minor critique for a game I really like and hope more support is coming for it. Villain folios, settings and new powers packed with more of Mr. Piscopo's art. Also, if there was an edited version with more art, I'd buy another physical copy of this. No joke!

Anyway, great job guys! Keep 'em coming.

Thank you! You've given me a great idea for some character folio releases! Once I am done working on my current skirmish miniature projects, I am going to circle back and work on some of these!

Advanced Mutant Companion: Revised (Mutant Future)

I have been aware of both A. Hagen's Labyrinth Lord and Mutant Future rules that has been published in the past for awhile. Aware and a big fan. I was happy that the Advanced Mutant Companion print came out, but I was even more so with all the new stuff and the art. I absolutely love the art! The added dimension to the existing Mutant Future rules gives it more depth and potential fun. I love it! Great book and I highly recommend it!

Dungeon Full of Monsters (First Edition)

I just got my printed copy (soft cover) of Dungeon Full of Monsters and its frickin' awesome! The art, monster and dungeon designs, ideas and storyhooks are all top notch. The team of Johnstone Metzger and Nathan Jones captures my idea of fantasy Chaos perfectly, where the dungeon is continuously shifting and changing, populated by some the weirdest monsters birthed from the loins of the Chaos dimension I have seen. Not a huge fan of the Eye Fckers (too on the nose for me), but everything from the Hippareiones to Snake Eyes will make it into my regular game of Labyrinth Lord. The quality of the print is also very impressive. Highly recommend this book! Good job, fellas!

Love this! The imagination for the world and the playable races/classes and monsters, etc. is pure. Its like Jack Kirby dropped acid and was told to elaborate on Thundarr the Barbarian. If there was a fund to have this printed in physical form (I'm old school like that), I would plunk down a load of cash for that. Buy this folks!
