Same problems with this list as FC2. It's really just a listing of prett generic stuff that doesn't really add any inspiration to a game. Do I really need to know the copper value of ginger and corn oil? I mean, I guess if I had profession: cooking this would be useful. But otherwise I don't see getting a lot out of this.

Not really impressed with this list. It's a combination of overly generic items (dandelions?) to stuff that is completely fabricated for this product (trulsilver, or troll silver). It gives you a skeletal description of each item and a coin value, but otherwise really doesn't do much. Its trying to be generic for any kind of game system, so it has zero in the way of actual crunch. But there isn't really much inspiration here. I don't suddenly think my PC (or NPCs for that matter) are gonna go off picking dandelions to make money.

If you are artisticly inept like me, and need good quality maps in a hurry, this is a good choice. The flat colors didn't eat a lot of ink and still came out looking good on paper. This list price of $7.99 is a bit high, but if you catch this on sale and need map grids pick it up.

Neiyar: Land of Heaven and the Abyss

Very interesting flavor to the setting. The format and art are a little bland, but I don't think I really care too much about art in a PDF. Not a politically-correct setting by any means. The races of the setting are very cool and work with the jungle world they live in. Hearth Magic is an idea that seems to me long overdue. Hearth Magic is a skill that lets you "buy" certain hearth rituals with skill points. The rituals are powerful, but its balanced out by the fact that you have to spend skill points to get them and actually find someone willing to train you. The section on flaws has some pretty amusing listings that will make for interesting roleplaying opportunities. And just when you thought there weren't any new original spells: EXPLODING COCONUTS! God, I can't wait to use that!

I'd like to take a moment to address the layout/art issue. Neiyar was first written for 3.0 several years ago, and was our first full-length RPG product. Frankly, I'm not satisfied with the layout either. While we did update the system for 3.5 and tweek some of the issues with the original edition, it still isn't where I want it to be visually. We have sat on doing a complete new revision, however, until we know what is going on with 4th edition. There is little point in making cosmetic changes if we are going to have to completely revisit the product again in 6-8 months. For now, we are focusing on moving forward and developing support materials for the setting. When we do revise Neiyar, you'll be notified that the new download is available through the revision system here at the site.

100 Treasure Chest Stuffers

It does what it needs to do, and that is give you a quick and easy reference to stuff those treasure chests (or cabinets, bags, etc). While there aren't really a lot of unique "OMG" items here, it really doesn't need to have them. This will be useful for when you just need quick minor loot or trade goods, particularly for me since often I run games where the tiny villages and stuff prefer to barter over gold pieces.

It may be my fault, as I don't have a super delux color printer. The files took a long time to print. They look absolutely gorgeous on the screen, but burned a lot of ink to print. The color detail looks great. Unfortunately, after realizing how much ink I was gonna consume from the first page, I tried to print in greyscale. There isn't enough contrast to get a good greyscale printout. I guess if you have a high tech color printer, this is a great product. I would like to see a grayscale option that has some better contrast for printing for us poor suckers who don't have good equipment. But if you can handle the printing, these are really nice grids.
