It always seems to me that in order to have a well-rounded character, one who is a 'real person' in the context of the alternate reality in which your game is set, you need to know a lot more about him than how well he swings a sword, what spells he knows and what's in his backpack...

So a list of suitable hobbies for a character in a fantasy setting is a bit of a treat, especially when - like this one - it suggests things to do in downtime that are not generally done in the real world in the present day. OK, I do left-handed fencing, mostly 'cos I am left-handed... but how about fate-thread knitting or charm spell judo, creative spell writing, insect petrification or vintage monster taxonomy.

I just rolled up a Ranger character (well, he's an NPC in a game I'm running) who hunts for sport rather than the pot and is a good artist, sketching the animals and monsters than he encounters. The next chap may have some slightly more unusual hobbies...
