Shadowrun: Sim Dreams & Nightmares
Publisher: Catalyst Game Labs
by Peter H. [Verified Purchaser]

This short piece gives an overview of the electronic drugs of the Sixth World with a very brief set of rules for long term drug use and the consequences. While the informational part is nicely written - from the perspective of an ex-and-now-again-addict - the rules are sparse and not really that much. In conclusion: Good background info, not much game value. Surely nice to flesh out a part of the Sixth World but not necessary to keep running.

Treasure Hoard Generator Pack

This is a real blast for the money! Sure, most of it can be found at the publishers website but there are rumors about areas without internet connection. And then this one comes in to save the day. Different tabs allow you to generate a wealth of items, be it charms, gems, artifacts, weapons, coins from long-lost-lands or more. And the big plus: you can pick your parties level and have a whole treasure trove generated for them, filled with ordinary money, random artifacts and some other magic goodies.

Like all d66 tables this one is easy to use and offers a nice pick of names topush that adventure that got stuck because you just can't get a decnt name beyond Station 41. And as in the other d66-tables it feels a bit short. But anyway a great thing for the price!

A nice and clean instruction to a simple dice game. Fits perfectly into pirate settings but also found its use at some calm evenings with friends, music and a bottle of rum :)

AstroSynthesis v2.0
Publisher: NBOS Software

Creating a star map for your universe spanning campaign is tedious and somewhere inevitably becomes boring. One more star system. Distance to other systems. Trade Routes. Planets, asteroid belts, gas giants... A load of work if you want to offer some details. But there is this nice tool that creates the basic system infos for you. Wonderful! Astro Synthesis is easy enough to get you started within some minutes but offers such a load of details and options that you can spend hours and still discover new stuff. It takes some getting used to but it's well worth the time.

Slag!
Publisher: BTRC

Well, this pretty much is what I was searching for a long time. Easy to learn gameplay with a decent level of realism and great replayability. The file is completely hyperlinked (which comes in handy when designing new starships) and the layout has been adapted to screen reading. Speaking of designing starships: it feels kinda like a box of Lego's where you don't have to calculate mass and space for things you want on your future flagship. Once it comes to combat you don't need a bag o'dice, coins or cardboard-pieces do the job excellently and the system is so dead simple that you'll most likely not need the file after your first battle.

I could go on praising this but I think you get the idea. Instead I'll go build some ships and find me someone to test them against.

Atomic Highway - Post Apocalyptic Roleplaying
Publisher: Gallant Knight Games
by Peter H. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 06/24/2010 08:04:41

This is either a perfect game to fill some time between adventures in another systems biiig campaign or the gate to a well worked post-apocalyptic universe. The rules are dead simple to learn and if you've ever seen a post-apocalypse-movie you know what kind of adventure fits. A big plus -in my eyes- is the mortality. Your players won't stand in bullet rain to tie their boots. Guns are DEADLY and a street thug becomes a danger when you aren't careful. Setting and rules allow short adventures to lighten the mood as well as long campaigns that fill several evenings of playing time.

So, grab your gun, make sure there's enough tape to hold the clip in and go out adventure!
